The author studies the subject of trenchless pipe replacement. He focuses on pipe crushing technology and its application. The influence of pipe crushing on surrounding area is also presented. Furthermore the method is compared to other technologies and their advantages and disadvantages are listed. Among other issues, stress is placed on increasing the hydraulic efficiency, significant shortening of the assembling time and decreasing the obstruction to local population or businesses and, finally the safety of the site workers.

Shortlining is one of the cheapest trenchless techniques of sewage pipelines rehabilitation, traditionally chosen when carried out hydraulic analysis proves that the actual amount of sewage is fewer to what the conduits had originally been planned for. When the flow of sewage is low and the canals are not quite full, its energy drops and the conduits lack the ability of self-cleaning. At the same time, the probability of sedimentation rises. Shortlining helps to reduce the renovation and exploitation costs during the sewage network construction and in the future.

Progress of technology in the construction of new pipes and rehabilitation of existing ones has been quite signifi cant in recent years in Poland. A number of new installation techniques, as well as construction methods, are widely applied. Vast majority of pipe producers in Polish market off ers a variety of pipes for usage in trenchless projects and narrow-dig projects. Among the fairly new products are layered plastic pipes. In order to broaden the public's knowledge of the type, we have asked Polish suppliers to answer a questionnaire and specify information on the pipes' resistance to cracks, scratches and point loads. A number of the fi lled in questionnaires is to be found with the article.

W Polsce technologia płużenia jest na razie w ograniczonym stopniu stosowana do układania kabli. Pługoukładacze kablowe, jakie są w tym celu stosowane, nie nadają się do układania rurociągów (z ich pomocą możliwe jest układanie rur jedynie o średnicy do 45 ÷ 50 mm). Konieczne jest tutaj zastosowanie pługoukładaczy o większej mocy i wielkości lemiesza. Warunki takie spełniają m. in. pługoukładacze niemieckiej firmy Fockersperger, której przedstawicielem na Polskę została firma PPHU WIR. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono układanie w gruncie rur i kabli technologią płużenia właściwą dla urządzeń firmy Fockersperger.

Prognozy światowe wykazują, że w perspektywie drugiej dekady przyszłego wieku wystąpią znaczące braki paliw płynnych. Konieczne jest zintensyfikowanie prac badaczych nad płynnymi paliwami pochodzącymi z roślin jako surowca odnawialnego i przyjaznego środowisku. Omówiono stan, uwarunkowania i ograniczenia w wytwarzaniu biopaliw z alkoholu i olejów roślinnych. Wprawdzie obecne relacje cen dla tych paliw są niekorzystne w porównaniu z paliwami mineralnymi, ale w niedalekiej perspektywie czasowej wytwarzanie tych paliw stanie się koniecznością gospodarczą.

According to different world prognoses, a significant lack of liquid fuels may be expected just in the second decade of the next century. Thus, there is a necessity to intensity and accelerate the research works on liquid fuels of agricultural origin. The fuels are a renewable and environment friendly source of energy. The paper presented an actual state of research on liquid biofuels, the limitations and external conditions affecting their production from alcohol and plant oils. Although the exising prices relations between biofuels and fossil fuels are rather disadvantageous for the first ones now, but taking into account the prognoses, within a relatively short time the situation should turn round and the production of liquid biofuels will be an economical necessity in the near future.

Dotychczasowe wyniki badań nie upoważniają do jednoznacznego wskazania kierunków rozwoju technicznego obecnie stosowanych zestawów środków technicznych (wybór typu prasy, owijarek pojedynczych czy grupowych, skarmiania samej sianokiszonki czy pasz pełnoskładnikowych typu TMR).

In technology of making haylage of wilted green crops, especially harvested on permanent prassland, the sets of machines may be used consisted of the various types of mowers, tedders-rakers, big balers-forming large-size cylindrical or rectangular bales, and bale wrappers. Separate set of machines is needed for bale handling and transport to storage place, as well as for forage unloading and distribution to feeding the animals. Cut fresh plant material, containing less han 25% crude fibre in dry matter, is dried on the swaths to dry matter content at least 50%. Depending on the type of used baler and size of bales their weight may range within 350-600 kg. The bales transported to storage place are wrapped with thin plastic sheets by special machine, three - or fourfold. Smaller number of plastic layers do not prevent sufficiently the gaseons exchange with ambient air. Wrapped bales may be stacked and storage
