Sufficient conditions for the existence of a common fixed point for uniformly Cq— commuting mappings satisfying a generalized contractive conditions in the framework of a convex metric space are obtained. As an application, related results on best approximation are derived. Our results generalize various known results in the literature.

We prove the existence of fixed point for weakly contractive multivalued maps satisfying the inwardness condition in the framework of a convex metric space. Fixed point theorems for multivalued contraction mapping taking the closed values are also obtained. These theorems extend several known results.

The aim of this paper is to provide a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a common fixed point of three maps f , g and T in a complete fuzzy metric space under a general contractive condition. A common fixed point theorem for a pair of weakly biased mappings, which is more general than weakly compatible mappings is also proved.

We establish coincidence point and common fixed point results for multivalued f-weak contraction mappings which assume closed values only. As an application, related common fixed point and invariant approximation are obtained in the setup of certain metrizable topological vector spaces. Our results provide extensions as well as substantial improvements of several well known results in the literature.

In this paper, common fixed point for four maps using an implicit contractive condition in a complete metric space is proved. Some periodic point results for such mappings are also obtained. These results extend and generalize several comparable results in the current literature.

A topological property or index of a network is a numeric number which characterises the whole structure of the underlying network. It is used to predict the certain changes in the bio, chemical and physical activities of the networks. The 4-layered probabilistic neural networks are more general than the 3-layered probabilistic neural networks. Javaid and Cao [Neural Comput. and Applic., DOI 10.1007/s00521-017-2972-1] and Liu et al. [Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing Research, 8(2018), 225-266] studied the certain degree and distance based topological indices (TI’s) of the 3-layered probabilistic neural networks. In this paper, we extend this study to the 4-layered probabilistic neural networks and compute the certain degree-based TI’s. In the end, a comparison between all the computed indices is included and it is also proved that the TI’s of the 4-layered probabilistic neural networks are better being strictly greater than the 3-layered probabilistic neural networks.

Zinc telluride (ZnTe) polycrystalline films have been grown on well-cleaned glass substrates by thermal vacuum evaporation technique using 99.99 % pure ZnTe powder as an evaporant. The samples were prepared at different substrate temperatures, rates of evaporation and thicknesses. The X-ray diffraction was used to study the structure of the films. The structures of the samples were found to be polycrystalline with preferred (1 1 1) orientation. Transmission spectra of all ZnTe films were recorded in the range of 300 nm to 2500 nm. The films were electrically characterized using Hall effect measurements at room temperature. It has been stated that the electrical resistivity, mobility and carrier concentration are strongly influenced by the substrate temperature. From the SEM results, it is clear that the surface of ZnTe is very smooth with occasional large particles on it.

The complexes of Cu and Mn metals with carboxylates (pivalic acid and benzoic acid) and imidazole were prepared and characterized. The synthesized complexes were screened for antimicrobial activity and cytotoxicity. The FTIR technique was used for characterization. The antibacterial assay revealed that the ligand and complexes are active against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Pasteurella multocida bacterial strains. The haemolytic assay revealed that [Cu(imi)(N₃)] and [MnIII(piv)(imi)(N₃)] were nontoxic, whereas [Cu(piv)(imi)] and [MnIII(Benz)(imi)(OCH₃)] showed moderate toxicity, and [Mn(Him)(N₃)₂] was highly toxic against human red blood cells (RBCs). Results revealed that Cu and Mn complexes with carboxylates (pivalic acid and benzoic acid) have antimicrobial activities. However, haemlytic assay revealed that the metal complex cytotoxicity was variable and biological activity evaluatuion of newly synthesized metals complexes is suggested for safe applications.

Aleyrodidae fly is a vector carrier of various diseases in crops, plants, and vegetables. The present investigation evaluated the Aleyrodidae fly population for its relationship with cotton disease under different environmental conditions. Faisalabad, Chiniot, Sargodha, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh (T. T. Singh), and Burewala from Punjab, Pakistan were selected for this study. The Aleyrodidae fly population was found to be significantly different in selected regions, and endosymbionts of Hamiltonella, Rickettsia, Fritschea, Cardinium, Arsenophonus, and Wolbachia were recorded in promotions to the Aleyrodidae fly population. The Hamiltonella co-infection percentages in Faisalabad, Chiniot, Sargodha, Jhang, T. T. Singh, and Burewala were recorded as 51, 28, 75, 8, 23, and 25, respectively, whereas relative abundance percentages of Hamiltonella endosymbiont were recorded as 52, 35, 65, 5, 20, and 21 in Faisalabad, Chiniot, Sargodha, Jhang, T. T. Singh, and Burewala, respectively. A similar trend was observed for Rickettsia, Fritschea, Cardinium, Arsenophonus, and Wolbachia co-infection and relative abundances. Results revealed that the Aleyrodidae fly is a carrier of different endosymbionts, which were significantly different under different environmental conditions.

Invertase has a vital role in ethanol fermentation, especially on sucrose-containing media. In this study, catabolite-resistant mutants of Saccharomyces cerevisiae were isolated through gamma ray mutagenesis with improved productivity of ethanol and invertases. Enzyme productivity of mutant yeast was compared with that of the parent. Various fermentation parameters were optimized, including substrate concentration, pH, and temperature on the production of invertase and ethanol. Applying optimized conditions (pH 4.6, 37ºC) at lab scale, industrial scale experiments in 300 m³ fermenters were performed. Mutants had completed fermentation with high efficiency in 28 hrs irrespective of parents that took 36 hrs. The mutant obtained is of great commercial value as it has the potential to enhance the overall profitability of the fermentation process through advancement in the quality of the final product.
