Sticholotidini (Coleóptera: Coccinellidae) from Western Ghats, a designated biodiversity hotspot in India, are poorly known. Fourteen species of Sticholotidini from southern Indian plantations, Western Ghats, are treated here. Most of these species are endemic to Western Ghats and are not commonly seen in collections and there is little information on their habitat / biology. Diagnostic information on these species is given here with illustrations of male genitalia wherever possible to facilitate their identification. Sticholotis húmida sp. nov. is described and illustrated. Lectotypes are designated for Orcus (?) ferrugineus Gorham (1894), Clanis binotata Gorham (1894), Sticholotis cribellata Sicard (1910), Sticholotis obscurocincta Sicard (1911), Sticholotis obscurella Weise (1908), Sticholotis nilgiriensis Weise (1908), and Sticholotis tredecimmaculata Weise (1908). Synonychimorpha immaculata Poorani (2003) is reduced to a new junior synonym of S. chittagongi (Vazirani, 1983) (new synonym). A checklist of Sticholotidini known from the Western Ghats is given.

The Australian species classified in the cosmopolitan genus Scymnus are revised. Nomenclatural history, diagnoses, illustrations and distribution are provided for each of the eleven recognized species. Scymnus fuscatus Boheman, 1859 is recorded from Australia for the first time. Four new species, Scymnus alligator, S. bunya, S. leai and S. tasmanicus are described. Lectotypes are designated for: Midus pygmaeus Blackburn, 1892, Scymnomorpha duplopunctulata Blackburn, 1892, Scymnus ambulans Blackburn, 1895, S. mitior Blackburn, 1895, S. parallelus Blackburn, 1889, S. queenslandicus Blackburn, 1892 and S. varipes Blackburn, 1895. A new name Scymnus blackburni nom. nov. is introduced for Scymnus pygmaeus (Blackburn, 1892) preoccupied by Scymnus pygmaeus (Fourcroy, 1785). Scymnus varipes Blackburn, 1895 is recognised as a junior synonym of Scymnus ambulans Blackburn, 1895 (syn. nov.)

The genus Cryptolaemus Mulsant endemic to New Guinea / Australasia is reviewed. Thirty-two new species (C. tetrahedron, C. simulatus, C. sigmoidus, C. distinctus, C. pulchellus, C. dualis, C. ambiguus, C. sedlaceki, C. iodes, C. purpureus, C. parvus, C. prominens, C. metallicus, C. magnificus, C. splendidus, C. regalis, C. splendens, C. riedeli, C. dubius, C. trochanteratus, C. similis, C. aeruginosas, C. bicolor, C. asymmetricus, C. incertus, C. typicus, C. incrassatus, C. robustas, C. fraternus, C. atratus, C. guineensis, C. gressitti, spp. nov.) are described and illustrated. Cryptolaemus concinnus Weise is redescribed and the male genitalia are illustrated. Besides montrouzieri-group and subviolaceus-group, four more species groups are tentatively recognized based on male genitalia and other characters: iodes-group, magnificus-group, riedeli-group, and bicolor-group, and some of the species are unassociated with any of these groups. A key is provided to the males of the species of Cryptolaemus from New Guinea, mainly based on genitalia. Presence of a stridulatory apparatus is reported from species of the riedeli-group, which is the first of its kind in Coccinellidae.

The highly modified Cucujoid genus Cleidostethus Arrow, 1929 is redescribed and illustrated. The beetle is known to occur in Africa in the nests of the sting less bee Melipona alinderi Alfken. The systematic position of Cleidostethus is discussed and it is here transferred from Coccinellidae to Corylophidae, Corylophinae, Cleidostethini trib. nov.

The genus Synoria Pope (1989) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae: Coccineilini) is revised, with particular reference to the Oriental and Australasian species complex widely identified as S. melanaria (Mulsant, 1850), the type species. It is concluded that the name S. melanaria ought to be applied to the species currently known as S. seminigra (Weise, 1902) and a lectotype is designated for S. melanaria. Synona seminigra (Weise, 1902) is synonymised with S. melanaria (new synonym). Coccinella cassidoides Montrouzier, 1857 (not C. cassidoides Donovan, 1798), and Harmonia anthracina Iablokoff- Khnzorian, 1982 are reduced to junior synonyms of S. melanaria (Mulsant, 1850) (new synonyms). Synona melanopepla (Mulsant, 1850), distributed in the Indian subcontinent and hitherto considered as a synonym of S. melanaria, is recognized as a valid species (status revived). Synona rougeti (Mulsant, 1866), Lemnia melanoptera Iabiokoff-Khnzorian, 1978, and Lemnia (Synia) martini Iablokoff-Khnzorian, 1984 are synonymised with S. melanopepla (new synonyms). Three new species are described: S. obscura sp. nov. (India), S. consanguínea sp. nov. (China, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam), S. philippinensis sp. nov. (Philippines). A key to the species is provided, along with biological information wherever available. Coelophora vidua Mulsant, 1850 is synonymised with Coelophora inaequalis (Fabricius, 1775) (new synonym).
