Vehicles need to be re-advancing by video transmission among vehicles for safety and cooperative deriving. The video images captured from camera could help the driver to monitor the surroundings as well as transmit the compressed images over vehicular communication network. Video over wireless communication has a lot of potential applications in intelligent transportation systems (ITS).Video streaming utilizes high bandwidth data links to transmit information. The high-bandwidth systems required larger equipment, better line-of-sight, and more complex mechanism for reliable transmit ion over the network. The intended platform for the system described in this study, is to develop a software defined algorithm for automatic video compression and transmission. The proposed algorithm is able to robustly find the left and right boundary of the lane using Hough Transform method and transmit over the network. Therefore the limitations of high-bandwidth equipment become more significant in a tactical scenario. The results show that the proposed method works well on marked roads and transmission in various lighting conditions.

W artykule przedstawiono algorytm kompresji i transmisji obrazów do zastosowania w komunikacji bezprzewodowej w sieci samochodowej.

The release of heavy metals in the environment is a serious threat causing health hazards to living beings. Hence, it is essential to remediate chemical contamination for a safe environment. Bioremediation is considered one of the most cost-effective and sustainable agricultural techniques, in contrast with other conventional methods to reduce chromium toxicity in agricultural lands polluted with chromium, as it is a natural way to mitigate the toxic effects of hexavalent chromium with simultaneous amelioration in the growth of plants. In the current study, an attempt was made to reduce toxicity of chromium by using six plant growth-promoting chromium-resistant bacteria (Bacillus pumilus (ALa), Bacillus atrophaeus (BL2), Bacillus cereus (AR), Staphylococcus lentus (E3), T2aii and W6ii) for enhancing the growth of Zea mays L. in soil contaminated with chromium. In this regard, a pot experiment was conducted with pre-germination and post-germination inoculation treatments to Zea mays seeds in the presence of chromium stress, i.e., 200, 400, and 600 µg/ml. Our results have shown that toxicity of chromium caused a reduction in photosynthetic pigments and protein content together with reduction in growth parameters of plants, while treatments with chromium-resistant PGPB significantly enhanced chromium tolerance in treated plants compared with non-inoculated treatments in the presence of chromium stress. The present investigation suggests that applying post-germination inoculation treatments is an effective technique for improved plant growth and heavy metal alleviation in metal-contaminated soil. Thus, our current work revealed an incentive approach toward the green revolution in the age of industrialization by exploring beneficial chromium-tolerant auxin-producing microbes.

The increased power density, reduced switching losses with minimum electromagnetic interference (EMI), and high efficiency are essential requirements of power converters. To achieve these characteristics, soft power converters employing soft switching techniques are indispensable. In this paper, a ZCS/ZVS PWM AC/DC converter topology has been emphasized, which finds applications in high power systems such as automobile battery charging and renewable energy systems. This converter scheme maintains zero current and zero voltage switching conditions at turn on and turn off moments of semiconductor switches, respectively and soft operation of rectifier diodes that lead to negligible switching and diode reverse recovery losses. Moreover, it improves power quality and presents high input power factor, low total harmonic distortion of the input current (THDI ) and improved efficiency. The validity of theoretical analysis of the proposed converter has been carried out experimentally on a 10 kW laboratory prototype. Experimental results prove that the soft switching operation of the semiconductor switches and diodes is maintained at 98.6% rated load efficiency. In addition, the performance evaluation has been performed by comparative analysis of the proposed converter with some prior art high power AC/DC converters. Efficiencies of the proposed and prior art high power topologies have been determined for different load conditions. The highest efficiency, power factor and lower THDI of the proposed converter topology complies with international standards.
