W ostatnich latach znacznie wzrosło zapotrzebowanie na usługi transpor-towe krajowe i międzynarodowe, co wpłynęło w sposób bezpośredni na rozwój komunikacji drogowej i kolejowej na świecie. Bardzo ważnym problemem jest zapewnienie bezpieczeństwa w zakresie eksploatacji tuneli, a szczególnie w aspekcie zagrożenia pożarami. W artykule przedstawiono możliwości zastosowania programów grupy CFD do symulacji pożaru w przykładowym tunelu. Symulacje komputerowe pomagają ustalać drogi ewakuacji pasażerów, czas reakcji służb ratowniczych, przewidywać rozkład temperatury w tunelu itp.

Demand for both national and international transport services has significantly increased in recent years what directly influenced the development of road and railway transport in the world. An important issue consists in ensuring of safety in the operation of tunnels and especially with regard to a fire hazard. This paper presents the possibility of CFD software application to simulate a of fire in the exemplary tunnel. Computer simulations help to determine the escape router for passengers, emergency response time of the rescue services, predict the temperature distribution in a tunnel, etc.

Artykuł zawiera podstawowe zagadnienia związane z systemami wentylacji budowanych tuneli komunikacyjnych. Do zapewnienia odpowiednich warunków higienicznych i bezpieczeństwa na etapie drążenia zachodzi potrzeba stosowania odpowiedniej wentylacji w tunelach. Zadaniem wentylacji tuneli komunikacyjnych podczas budowy jest zapewnienie odpowiedniej wymiany powietrza w celu utrzymania dopuszczalnego poziomu stężeń szkodliwych zanieczyszczeń stałych i gazowych oraz odprowadzania ciepła z tunelu, a także w przypadku wystąpienia pożaru umożliwienie bezpiecznej ewakuacji ludzi i sprawne ugaszenie pożaru w tunelu.

The article contains basic issues related to ventilation systems of the transportation tunnels during their drivage. To ensure proper hygiene and safety conditions at the stage of drilling it is necessary to use adequate ventilation in tunnels. The purpose of ventilation, during construction of transportation tunnels is to ensure adequate air exchange in order to maintain acceptable levels of harmful particulate matter and gases concentrations and removal of heat from the tunnel, and also in case of fire to enable the safe evacuation of people and efficient extinguishing of a fire in the tunnel.

The aim of the workshop programme is the creation of the base for cultural events in the town. The solution proposed by us is the development of "Piazza Ducale", which is a car park at present and would involve the new function of the square, a new pavement and architectural details. The project is based on the idea of water appliances, such as an oblong water pool and a fountain. The pavement would comprise of stone slabs which would limit the road traffic in the square. The channel is partially covered by steel grating to facilitate pedestrian traffic. The steel arc fountain cuts the square diagonally, forming a water curtain, which will improve the micro - climate during hot days. The water wall divides the space of the square, which in turn will create inter-related interiors. The new divide will give a feeling of intimacy for all the users of the square attractions. At the same time, the water curtain transparency and the fountain will allow the square to be perceived as an entirety, so the structure becomes interactive and sensitive to the recipients needs. Furthermore, there are new light spots and seats designed on the square. The main goal of the project is to generally change the function of the square from current escaping space into an area where it is worth stopping to enjoy the planned and surrounding attractions.
