The aim of the article is to present journalist genre called the feuilleton, developing since the Enlightenment period, as a precious source of knowledge which is useful in historical research and in cultural tourism for both cultural tourism organizers and tourists themselves. The subject was described with the use of excellent 19th century series of feuilletons by Marceli Motty called the “Letters of Wojtuś from Zawady”, which are a treasury of information about Poznań and its inhabitants in the 19th century. Marceli Motty draws the picture of the Greater Poland’s capital in the 1860s. Rich language and unusual timeliness of the feuilleton makes them an interesting completion of the guiding commentary meant for inquisitive cultural tourists who are not satisfied only with general or guiding publications. The “Letters of Wojtuś from Zawady”, as well as feuilletons of other authors from that period, can enrich Poznań’s biographical, literary, museum, urban, educational offer, as they constitute an excellent material for designing new tourist-cultural routes around the city of Poznań. The routes can consider a widely-understood cultural theme (visual arts, literature, theater, music), biographical-literary (outstanding citizens of Greater Poland as well as famous culture creators), socio-traditional (everyday lives of the city inhabitants in the period of annexation, fashion, bon ton, language uniqueness, the activity of societies and organizations, education), etc.

Tourism to industrial and technical facilities blossoms also in Poland. In case of Greater Poland it is not the leading trend as the region does not possess top rank facilities, such as the Wieliczka Salt Mine. However, the region has a different trump that distinguishes it from others – a comparatively large group of well-preserved historical windmills. These unique constructions deserve to be taken care of by restoration specialists and to be saved from oblivion by exposing and popularizing the route built along them. The intensive efforts in this matter should be based on the activity of the Greater Poland Windmill Association and should draw tourists’ attention to Greater Poland (Wielkopolska Region) as a region formerly called “the land of windmills”.

Poznań preserved rich and interesting legacy of Gothic art and architecture. To a large extent, this legacy has become a part of the Royal-Imperial Route, though it seems to disappear among other historical-artistic themes. The aim of the article is to present Poznań Gothic heritage and to suggest a theme route focusing on this particular style. This route can become an independent tourist product promoting the city not only in the country but it also could, if it were included into the already existing European Route of Brick Gothic, expand the circle of foreign tourists interested in the issue. In Greater Poland (Wielkopolska Region) Gothic architecture, unlike the Romanesque one, still does not have a separate real or virtual route. Even though Gothic architecture of Greater Poland does not match the impressive Gothic architecture of western Europe, its regional specificity and uniqueness, and at the same time artistic links with other regions of Poland through the activity of building workshops from Silesia, Pomerania and Lesser Poland, create connections with the regions’ architecture, so it fully deserves a wide recognition and exposure for the need of domestic and inbound cultural tourism.
