The author presents results of a poll concerning the Postgraduate Course carried out among current and former students. The answers came from 27% of students. In the article needs and expectations related to the Course were presented, concerning mostly essential matters, but also organizational issues. Additionally, statistical information about place of employment, age and education of the students were presented. Subjects of students evaluation reports were listed. There were also presented: ranking of lectured subjects according to their .usefullness., synthetic evaluation of lecturers both from the Warsaw Agricultural University and from outside, and the general evaluation of the Course. The contents of the article refers to previous publication about the Course which appeared in Annals of Geomatics in 2003.

On CIR images near infra red range of electromagnetic radiation is registered. In this range the difference between reflectance of terrain objects and trees species becomes more clear. Three digital images corresponding to the component colors in RGB were obtained by scanning analog images. The colors represent intensity of solar radiation recorded on the image. Digital recording is considered an objective representation of the color phenomenon. The paper presents digital analysis of classification of tree crown (spruce) results for three health levels, carried out by using visual method, by different operators. It was found out that the results were widely dispersed. The interpreted categories were also equivocal, because trees with the same color code were included to different health levels.

In the paper discuss possibilities of the use of current photogrammetric techniques in forestry, with special emphasis on digital orthophotography. The paper is a brief summary of a report about possible use of modern techniques in projects performed by the Office of Forest Management and Forest Survey. In the paper, advantages of photogrammetry, achieved products accuracy, sources of data and suggestions concerning the use of photogrammetric methods in forest management were discussed. The paper also contains description of digital photogrammetric stations generally used in Poland and lists other laboratory equipment for performing this kind of projects.
