The study paper describes dynamic mathematical model of an induction motor. This model has been applied to simulate investigations and to calculate a peak value of electromagnetic torque during short circuit shock. Also presented are results of experiment investigations of a high power induction motor vibration, which has been initiated by a short circuit shock method. The measurement results of vibration when using two other methods are included. Consistence of measurement results proves suitability of a short circuit shock method to be applied to vibration testing of an induction motor.
