The paper contains the results of experimental studies on the effect of the gas flow rate and agitator rotational speed on the gas hold-up in a tank equipped with the Rushton turbine and membrane gas distributors.

The main problem in designing reactors with oscillating ele ments and the OBR, OBC or COBR-type pulsators is to deter-I mine the frequency of oscillations and their amplitude necessary I to obtain gas bubbles of defined sizes depending on phases physicochemical properties, e.g. viscosity and/or interfacial tension. Preliminary results of the study dealing with the effect of a continuous phase oscillation frequency and amplitude on gas hold-up in a bubble column with the pulsating element are dis cussed in the paper.

The paper contains experimental study results of the effect of gas flow rate, agitator rotational speed and concentration of aqueous solution of carboxymethylcellulose sodium salt (Na-CMC) and polyacrylamide {Rokrysol WFl) on gas hold-up in a tank equipped with the Rushton turbine and the 240 PD membrane gas distributor.
EN
The paper contains experimental results dealing with the effect of agitator rotational speed and the power to volume mixed liquid ratio on gas hold-up in a tank equipped with the Rushton turbine and the 50 Pg and 240 PD membrane gas distributors, The operation of distributors was additionally monitored by the digital microphotography.

The experimental studies dealing with the power consumption and gas hold-up in a stirred tank equipped with the single or dual high-speed impellers are presented. The results for different configurations of impellers situated on the shaft were compared. The influence of the diameter and configuration of impellers on the gas distribution into liquid was evaluated.
