The vogue for collocations indicated in the title of the present paper refers to an observation made by Hausmann, who treats collocations as a global term which signals the phraseological turn in the lexicography and is used in an inflationary way (cf. Hausmann 2007: 229 and Reder 2006: 17). The present paper demonstrates that the infl ationary use of collocations does not correspond with an agreement on which linguistic phenomena are denoted by the term.
