Economic and environmental aspects of generating energy from renewable sources in various forms: thermal, electric and mechanical have been presented in this article. Utilization of those resources and their promotion has been imposed on us by the climate convention but substantial level of pollution in large cities of our country contributed to that as well. RES share in the production of electricity and heating in Poland is regulated centrally by the directive of Minister of Economy. RES utilization is gradually becoming more rational in our country. It levels the prices of biomass for energy sector which has a visible impact on the level of round wood prices in Poland.

The results of deteriorating economic situation in Europe are visible in numerous fields of economy also in Poland. Wooden sector is also among those undergoing a difficult phase. It is the result of its specific production process as well as its Total dependence from the main supplier that is National Forests. Hence seeking solutions which will enable the producers to function properly in this period of an economic slump becomes a necessity. The aim of the article is to highlight the broad potential of engineered wood, which in the situation of increase of wood prices and the shortage of this material on the market becomes an interesting, often cheaper alternative for wooden construction. Additionally, its aim is to present the parameters of solid and engineered wood in a context of wooden construction, as well as point at the innovative solutions which facilitate meeting European Union contemporary standards in home building.

The economic crisis is now one of the main causes of problems affecting not only the wood industry. Seems to be interesting to analyze the environment and economic conditions of the wood industry companies in Poland. There are many factors that determine the right development of enterprises. Among many factors affecting the wood industry sector environment, only few, such as: wood supply prices and monthly salaries in wood processing sectors industry were examined.

Analiza otoczenia gospodarczego i warunków funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstw przemysłu drzewnego w Polsce – wpływ wynagrodzeń. Kryzys ekonomiczny to obecnie jedna z głównych przyczyn trudności wpływających nie tylko na przemysł drzewny. Interesującym wydaje się być dokonanie analizy otoczenia i warunków gospodarowania przedsiębiorstw branży drzewnej w Polsce. Istnieje wiele czynników warunkujących odpowiedni rozwój przedsiębiorstw. Wśród wielu elementów występujących w otoczeniu sektora drzewnego w niniejszym opracowaniu zostały zbadane niektóre, między innymi: ceny zaopatrzeniowe drewna, wysokość wynagrodzeń w wybranych sektorach przemysłu przerobu drewna, ceny i liczba sprzedanych mieszkań.

The economic crisis is now one of the main causes of problems affecting not only the wood industry. Seems to be interesting to analyze the environment and economic conditions of the wood industry companies in Poland. There are many factors that determine the right development of enterprises. Among many factors affecting the wood industry sector environment in Poland in this study, only few, such as: number of credit agreements, value and number of newly signed housing credit agreements and share of high risk housing, operating and investment loans in total loans in Polish enterprises were examined.
