The purpose of research was to determine by calorimetric method the combustion heat and then to calculate Biodiesel RME heat value. On the basis of established fuel value, yield and oil output from rapeseeds, energy value of RME, which may be obtained from 1 ha of rapeseed cropped area, was determined. From fourteen tested varieties, the highest combustion heat - 40,4 [MJ/kg] had RME obtained from rapeseed variety Pomorzanin. The lowest combustion heat 38,2 [MJ/kg] had RME obtained from rapeseed Bazyl. This indicates that combustion heat appointed for RME obtained from the most favorable variety is 5,8% (2.2[MJ/kg]) bigger than from Bazyl variety. Appointed from combustion heat RME heat value for the tested varieties had values from 35,8 to 37,2 [MJ/kg]. Maximum difference of RME energy values, calculated in mass units was 6,2%. RME heat value that can be obtained from cultivation area is from 46,8 to 57,2 [GJ/ha]. This indicates that heat value obtained for variety Pomorzanin is 18,8% bigger than the value for Bazyl variety. Average RME heat value - 53,3 [GJ/ha], that was obtained for tested varieties is comparable to heat value of about 1261 kg (1538 [dm3] of diesel fuel. As the average heat value, 43 [MJ/kg] was accepted.
