We recognize three attestations of the element -si attached to a verbal ending in KARKAMIŠ A11b, A12 and ALEPO 2. The author has already regarded this -si as another reflexive element comparable to the reflexive -ti. Furthermore, we can also point out four more attestations of a similar element -si in the inscriptions recently discovered at TELL AHMAR 6: huhasata-si "he himself ran" (vii and xix) and at ÇINEKÖY: iziya-si "they themselves made" (vi and vii). It should be noted that the element -si in ÇINEKÖY is attached directly to an irregularly omitted verbal form iziya of *iziyanta "they made".

In this paper we intend to investigate the three elements of the Spanish verb system, ie. infinitive (cantar), present and past participles (cantando, cantado). We will find out the changes undergone by these grammatical forms and their function during medieval Spanish. This period is considered to be crucial for the formation and the future role played by the impersonal forms of verb.

Presented paper deals with the morphological category of aspect in Cantonese. Given the lack of a morphological category of tense in Cantonese, aspect holds a particular position in this system, as it is the sole morphological means expressing temporal relations. The aim of the paper is to present the functioning of the various aspects of Cantonese, both perfective and imperfective, based on the theoretical framework presented beforehand, which draws on the previous achievements of linguists in this field. The second section presents what specific morphological means are used to express the category of aspect in Cantonese, which is then followed by a brief discussion of the relation between resultative verb compounds and the perfective aspect. The last, and by far the largest section, presents corpus material which exemplifies the use of different aspect markers. The paper is an attempt to respond to the hitherto lack of consensus among Sinologists about the number as well as the types of aspects that occur in Cantonese.

This paper introduces some major conceptual enhancements to the morphological annotation of the SYN series corpora of the Czech National Corpus. Apart from minor changes in tokenization and in the positional tagset, three major conceptual changes have been applied which affect the representation of various lexical and grammatical patterns. In the paper, we present the actual impact of the changes in linguistic data and search for possibilities in three linguistic areas. First, the treatment of phonic, graphemic, and morphological variants via a two-tier lemma structure is discussed; second, a new approach to periphrastic verb forms, auxiliaries, participles and the interpretation of verbal grammatical categories through a new attribute, called verbtag, is explained; and third, a complex multi-value treatment of multiword tokens is introduced.
