Violence against women is a serious violation of women's human rights and a significant health issue in many countries. As domestic violence is a subject of high concern in the different countries, there has been considerable research into the topic of domestic violence generally, though there is comparatively less known on health care providers roles related to  domestic violence. Health care providers are usually frontline professionals that victims of violence get in touch with , even sometimes not explicitly. Therefore health care providers’ skills and attitudes are very important when giving  a hand to victims of violence professionally. A special case is Turkey. Where the social structure in Belgium, England and Austria is of an matriarchal nature (in a sociological sense, not anthropologic), Turkey is strongly patriarchally ordered. Moreover, it has a higher level of social acceptance of domestic violence. This paper describes the program in a medical curriculum on violence against women. Simulation which is increasingly being used in health care workers training is used to deliver the program. Standardized patient (SP) methodology is the preferred modality of simulation. SP is a lay person trained to portray a patient in order to simulate a set of symptoms or problems. SPs would have first-hand knowledge, experience and feedback to improve the skills. The simulation program and the experiences of the students acquired during this program are discussed in this paper.

Specialized training of candidates for officers is one of the main components affecting the preparation of an officer for taking up first duty. In the article the author presents and analyzes the structure of the specialized training for the corps of defense against weapons of mass destruction (CBRN), in force in the years 2006-2015. The evaluation of the specialized training programs shows diversification in terms of the organization of training while maintaining the consistency of training objectives. On the grounds of such an evaluation the author argues that the program multiplicity and variability may differentiate, and probably does, graduates in respect of the level of competences for the profession. That thesis constitutes the basis for conducting studies on the effectiveness of specialized training of candidates for officers of the Polish Armed Forces.

This article contains the results of research on the evaluation of the training offer addressed to the medical staff of one of the largest Polish specialist hospitals. The authors have used surveys addressed to employees: doctors and nurses. On the basis of numeral data received from the respondents, two “quality maps” have been drawn that show the opinion of “white coat” workers (doctors and nurses) about the hospital training offer. This work presents similarities and differences between assessments of doctors and nurses. A short description of the hospital as well as its weaknesses and strengths has been presented. A direction of possible changes has been indicated by the employees. The authors indicate the significance of training programs in order to gain work satisfaction, and the role of the personnel strategy to achieve the objectives. They emphasize the significance of aimed professional development in a health-care-providing institution where knowledge and skills have an influence on the health and lives of patients. Research results showed the validity of the practical use of the quality map in the process of hospital management. This tool allows us to get answers about which areas (according to respondents) carrying out corrective actions are recommended.

On the basis of generalization and structuring of the obtained theoretical data and own empirical experience concerning the development of professional reflection of teachers of mathematical disciplines in the conditions of methodological work of pedagogical college, the author developed the program of training course “The Development of Professional Reflection of Teachers”, which is presented in the article. The training course “The Development of Professional Reflection of Teachers” was developed for teachers of natural and mathematical disciplines for conducting in the process of methodological work of pedagogical college. Its peculiarity is that the trends of continuous education, adult education, corporate learning in the process of methodological work of pedagogical college, and targeted (as opposed to spontaneous) development of professional reflection of teachers have been taken into account. The training course “The Development of Professional Reflection of Teachers” consists of three modules (the module is interpreted as an organizational and methodological structural unit within the specified training course). The subject of the training course is the theoretical basis of the professional reflection of teachers, the conditions and means of development of the professional reflection of teachers of natural and mathematical disciplines for its conducting in the process of methodological work of pedagogical college. The training program consists of the following content modules: 1. The theoretical basis of professional reflection of the teacher. 2. The reflexive character of methodological work of college teacher. 3. The means of development of professional reflection of the teacher. The selection and instrumentalization of pedagogical conditions and tools seem to be promising the prospect that promotes the efficiency of the process of developing the professional reflection of teachers of mathematical disciplines in the process of methodological work of pedagogical college.

Lessons learned from analysis of modern conflicts and post-conflict lessons have revealed the acute need to review the current training programmes in order to adopt them to modern challenges in the field of peacekeeping. Multidimensional operations run under the auspices of the UN or NATO are not aimed at purely military gain anymore, but follow the comprehensive approach in dealing with conflict and post-conflict societies. A complex emergency environment sets a range of tasks for the modern peacekeeper, focusing more and more on dealing with humanitarian issues. Gender awareness is one of the newest and most challenging questions, both during the pre-deployment training of a future peacekeeper and the aftermath during his or her performance in the mission area. Thus, raising this awareness in pre-deployment training will increase the overall efficiency of the personnel during their tour of duty. This paper deals with the ways of implementing gender training into already set pre-deployment training programmes and shows the strategies for integrating it into the lectures without disrupting the overall training methodology.

Family and marriage counseling is extremely important. It is necessary. On the one hand, it is to help people who are preparing to enter into the sacrament of marriage, but on the other hand it is to help married couples experiencing various crises. The quality of future marriage and family life depends on this preparation for the sacrament of marriage. In addition, accompanying spouses in a variety of difficult times is extremely important for the quality of their life together. In the era of the depreciation of the sacrament of marriage, pro-divorce mentality, the issue seems to be very important and therefore counseling and competent people are needed.

Background. Competition-specific training programs must consider both the physical benefits and their effects on pre-competition psychological mental stability. Aim. To analyse the effects of applying a pre-competition judo training program on the level of pre-competition psychological stability (SCAT) and special judo fitness test (SJFT) in junior athletes. Methods. Sixteen male junior judokas (17±1.4 years; 8±2.2 years of judo experience) participated in an 8-week training program. The program-controlled variables included volume and load intensity, Stagnos’ Training Impulse indicators and perceived exertion. SJFT was used to determine a specific level of fitness in pre- and post-training judo. The Sports Competition Anxiety Test was used to assess the level of pre-competition anxiety and mental stability before the training program and before the first combat in a competition. A control group participated in normal training sessions. Results. The intensity of the load gradually increased during the microcycles (70-90% of the maximum load), allowing an increase in aerobic capacities, a positive adaptation to training loads and an increase in physical performance. As the competition approached, the training content approached the effort-pause ratio required in a competition (90-100% of the maximum load pause:20 seconds after-repetitions; 60 seconds after-series). This training program showed statistically significant improvements in the SJFT (13.4±0.3 pretraining vs. 12.7±0.4 posttraining; p<0.001) and the state of psychological preparation (20.4±3.6 pretraining vs. 19±1.4 post-training, p<0.001), which did not occur in the control group. Conclusions. The proposed training program had a positive effect on the mental stability and specific performance of junior judokas.

Tło. Specjalne programy treningowe przed zawodami muszą uwzględniać zarówno korzyści fizyczne, jak i ich wpływ na (psychologiczną) stabilność psychiczną przed zawodami. Cel. Analiza wpływu zastosowania programu treningowego judo przed zawodami na poziom stabilności psychicznej przed zawodami (SCAT) i specjalnego testu sprawności judo (SJFT) u młodszych zawodników. Metody. Szesnastu juniorów płci męskiej (17±1,4 lat; 8±2,2 lat doświadczenia w judo) wzięło udział w 8-tygodniowym programie treningowym. Zmienne kontrolowane przez program obejmowały wielkość i intensywność obciążenia, wskaźniki impulsu treningowego Stagnosa i postrzegany wysiłek. SJFT został wykorzystany do określenia określonego poziomu sprawności w judo, przed i po treningu. Test lęku przed zawodami sportowymi został wykorzystany do oceny poziomu lęku przed zawodami i stabilności psychicznej przed programem treningowym i przed pierwszą walką w zawodach. Grupa kontrolna uczestniczyła w normalnych sesjach treningowych. Wyniki. Intensywność obciążenia stopniowo wzrastała podczas mikrocykli (70-90% maksymalnego obciążenia), umożliwiając wzrost wydolności tlenowej, pozytywną adaptację do obciążeń treningowych i wzrost wydolności fizycznej.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest porównanie i ocena implementacji postanowień konwencji STCW 79/95 w praktyce polskiej Akademii Marynarki Wojennej i francuskiej Ecole Navale.

The use of the Convention on training seamen in the system of professional training of naval officers is sometimes considered groundless. As a matter of fact one of its articles states that the Convention applies to merchant ships, however, almost all NATO naval schools attempt to implement its provisions. The aim of the paper is to compare and assess implementation of the STCW 79/95 convention in the Polish naval Academy and the French Ecole Navale.

Polish Navy officers, as other officers since the beginning of the 1950s, were students of studies and specialist courses at Russian military academies and since 1947 at Engel's Military Academy in Dresden. In the mid 1950s, 580 Polish officers, 20 navy officers including, graduated from the studies and specialist courses in the Soviet Union. Later this number varied and did not depend on the Polish side. The information on the studies and courses at the USSR military academies and universities was received 2-5 years in advance by the MoD Personnel Department that sent an appropriate „analysis of needs” to various braches commands. There the recruitment for studies and courses took place (basing on the applications of candidates or different superiors' suggestions). The studies (courses) at Russian military academies took 3 years and 10 months or 4 years, in East Germany, however, they lasted 4 years, 10 months of which were reserved for learning German. Specialist courses were either short or long term (from one month to a year). At the time 650 Polish Navy officers graduated from the studies and courses in the Soviet Union and German Democratic Republic. Since then they have been occupying high positions in the havy and their professionalism has been highly estimated by the superious and subordinates.
