The state-of-the-art of research on the influence of vibration on the intensity of convective heat transfer has been described by means of selected examples. The wide range of own research for high speed rotating heat exchangers has been presented. The experimental stands, measuring equipment and some of its vibration characteristics have been described. The influence of torsional vibration with low frequency only at very small Re numbers has been found.

Content available remote Extended Kalman filters in the control structure of two-mass drive system

The paper deals with the application of the extended Kalman filters in the control structure of a two-mass drive system. In the first step only linear extended Kalman filter was used for the estimation of mechanical state variables of the drive including load torque value. The estimation algorithm showed good robustness to mechanical parameters varia-tions. For the system with some parameters changing in the wide range, simultaneous est-imation of the state variables and chosen system parameters is required. For this reason the non-linear extended Kalman filter, which estimates simultaneously state variables and mechanical parameters of the two-mass drive system, was developed. Parameters of covariance matrices of used Kalman filters were set using the genetic algorithm. Both proposed estimators were investigated in simulation and experimental tests, in the open-loop operation and in the state-feedback control system of the two-mass system.

W referacie przedstawiono wytypowane wyniki pomiarów drgań skrętnych wału napędowego średnioobrotowego silnika spalinowego typu Sulzer serii AL. Badanie miało na celu sprawdzenie możliwości wykorzystania analizy widmowej drgań skrętnych do diagnozowania stanu technicznego wtryskiwaczy paliwa silnika w eksploatacji w przypadku, gdy nie jest on standardowo wyposażony w zawory indykatorowe. Dla wyodrębnienia przydatnych parametrów diagnostycznych zasymulowano stan niezdatności wtryskiwacza polegający na wyłączeniu z pracy części otworów rozpylacza. Określono metodę oceny stanu technicznego rozpylacza na podstawie zawartości wyższych harmonicznych w widmie drgań skrętnych wału napędowego transmitującego moment obrotowy z silnika na śrubę napędową okrętu.

In the paper there are described selected results of torsional vibration measurements carried out on propulsion shafts powered by medium-speed, four-stroke, marine engine Sulzer 6AL20/24. The analysis had to check capabilities of diagnosing injection fuel valve failures within the propulsion system by means of torsional vibration analysis. For separation useful diagnostic parameters there was simulated unserviceability state which was relying on stopping up some openings in injection fuel valve.

The paper presents a theoretical study of damping nonlinear vibrations in a two-mass model of mechanical system containing torsion damper. It is assumed the starting of system by a harmonic forced with uniformly varying frequency and constant amplitude of the forced moment. In the work take into consideration a simultaneous structural friction phenomena. The problem is considered on the assumption of a uniform unit pressure distribution between the contacting surfaces of friction discs and plunger. The aim of the analysis is to asses the influence of geometrie parameters system, external load and unit pressure The equations of motion of the examined system was solved by means of the Krylov - Bogolubov - Mitropolski method and and digital simulation method.

The paper describes the developed dynamic model of the caterpiller's power transmission. lts advantage is the integrated dimensional model of a caterpillar propeller. Animated motion modeling provides the formation and transfer of kinematic and dynamic disturbances from caterpillar chassis, which cause the greatest loadings of the power circuit sections. The principle of power transmission is described as it forms in a mathematical model's differential equations. The result of the model's computational research is a set of oscillograms of the drive wheel's torque changes for different operating modes. The values of power transmission masses' natural frequencies are obtained. The research of the nature of transmission sections' dynamic loading by torsional vibrations, that arise and spread on the shafting, when the linked track rewinds, has been carried out.

Calculations were carried out for few changing liquid flow limits. The aim of made analysis was to establish impact of the liquid flow limit Mp on quantity of dissipate energy by viscotic torsion damper in comparison with the linear damper.

The paper is concerned with the problem of active reduction of torsional vibratio shafts. The solution based on application of a functionally graded material is preset The material of the shaft consists of two components - a passive host material, which be a laminate with strong shear stiffness, and active fraction in form of a piezoelei ceramic. One component gradually passes into the other according to the g exponential distribution. Three cases varying by the level of internal friction in the pas fraction are analysed in terms of the efficiency of the active approach. For mode natural damping in the matrix, best distributions of the active phase are found.

In this paper, a wind turbine simulator is developed using PSCAD. The wind turbine static characteristics are modeled using the relation among the turbine power, the wind speed, and the blade pitch angle. Also, the dynamic characteristics of the wind turbine are modeled through a two-mass oscillating system, representing the turbine and the generator connected by elastic shaft. The system considered is designed to show the effects of the tower shadow effect and blades asymmetry. Torsional oscillation effect on the drive train is also considered. A pitch angle controller is used to limit the turbine output power to the rated value to protect the coupled generator. Simulation results are presented to verify the wind turbine simulator performance.

W artykule opisano symulator turbin wiatrowych opracowany przy użyciu oprogramowania PSCAD. Charakterystyki statyczne turbin wiatrowych zamodelowano na podstawie zależności pomiędzy mocą turbiny, jej prędkością oraz kątem natarcia łopat wirnika. Ponadto zamodelowano charakterystyki dynamiczne turbin wiatrowych na podstawie oscylacyjnego modelu dwumasowego, reprezentującego turbinę oraz generator połączone na wspólnym, elastycznym wale. Zaprojektowany system uwzględnia efekt cienia aerodynamicznego wytwarzanego przez wieżę turbiny jak również asymetrię łopat wirnika. Uwzględniono również wpływ naprężeń skręcających na zespół napędowy. Zastosowano regulator kąta natarcia łopat wirnika w celu ograniczenia mocy wyjściowej do wartości znamionowej i ochrony sprzężonego generatora. Zaprezentowano wyniki badań symulacyjnych w celu weryfikacji zaprojektowanego symulatora.

The sensitivity analysis of torsional vibration frequencies of thin-walled I-beams with stiffeners is discussed. First order variation of simple eigenvalues due to the design variable variations is derived. The stiffener dimensions and its material constants are assumed to be the design variables. The considerations are based on the theory of thin-walled beams with nondeformable cross-section. The underintegral sensitivity functions of the variations of the square free vibration frequencies due to the variation of stiffener thickness' for a simply supported I-beam are determined. An approximation accuracy of the natural frequencies changes resulting from the design variable change by means of their first-order sensitivity analysis are also investigated.
