Results of experimental studies of the influence of vital activity of thiobacteria on the strength and durability of cement-sand mortars impregnated with sulfur and sulfur concrete melt are given. Conditions for vital activity of bacteria and the effect of biocide admixtures depressing their development have been determined. A model of biocorrosion of silicate materials modified by sulfur has been suggested. Fields of application of concretes modified by sulfur, in constructions have been defined.
