The development of computer sciences and telecommunication together with legislation changes caused the globalization of capital markets and the increase of their role in the economy. To measure the level of the development of capital markets it is necessary to take into account several aspects that lead to providing multidimensional analysis. Therefore multivariate statistical methodology can be used for such a purpose. The aim of the paper is a comparison of the development of the capital markets, represented by the stock exchanges affiliated with the Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE). The development of selected equity markets is evaluated applying taxonomic measures calculated on the basis of FESE data concerning nineteen European stock exchanges in the years 2002-2011. Variables used for the synthetic indicators construction describe both the characteristics of the capital markets and the financial efficiency of the stock exchanges.

Bezpieczeństwo ruchu drogowego stanowi obszar bezpieczeństwa publicznego, które jest podstawową potrzebą każdego człowieka. Jednym ze źródeł jego zagrożeń są przestępstwa drogowe związane z naruszeniem zasad bezpieczeństwa. Celem artykułu jest analiza bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego na terenie całego kraju i w poszczególnych województwach. Do badania wykorzystano dane przestrzenno-czasowe zawarte m.in. w Banku Danych Regionalnych z lat 2001-2014 oraz dostępnych w Internecie opracowań Policji. Analiza statystyczna i zastosowanie taksonomicznego miernika rozwoju Hellwiga pozwoliły na charakterystykę przestępstw drogowych w Polsce oraz na wskazanie województw charakteryzujacych się najlepszym poziomem bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego. Okazało się, że pomimo występowania szeregu negatywnych czynników zwiększających ryzyko wypadku, stan bezpieczeństwa na polskich drogach poprawia się. Spada zarówno liczba wypadków, jak i ich ofiar. Szczególnie pozytywne zmiany zauważono na polskich drogach po przystąpieniu Polski do Unii Europejskiej.

The road safety is an area of public security, which is a basic need of every human being. One of the sources of the threats are road traffic offenses related in violation of safety rules. The aim of the article is to analyze road safety throughout the country and in individual provinces. In the study were used spatial and time data included in e.g. in the Regional Bank Data in the years 2001-2014 and the Police research papers available on the Internet. the statistical analysis and application of the Hellwig's taxonomic measure of development allowed the characterization of road traffic offenses in Poland and to identification of regions with the highest level of road safety. It turned out, that despite the presence of a number of negative factors increasing the risk of accidents, the security situation on Polish roads improves. The number of accidents and their victims decreases. Particularly positive changes on Polish roads were noted after the Polish accession to the European Union.

The aim of the paper is space and temporal analysis of the demographic situation in Poland in the context of the country’s economic development. In the paper the taxonomic measure of development describing the demographic situation and the measure of economic development for the 66 sub-regions (NUTS-3) based on selected diagnostic variables in the period 2004–2012 were determined. In the paper there was made the analysis of spatial distributions of designated synthetic measures within the scope of identifying spatial trends and spatial autocorrelation. The results obtained for individual years of analyzed period were compared, conclusions were formulated and directions for further research were outlined.

Celem artykułu jest przestrzenna i czasowa analiza sytuacji demograficznej w Polsce w kontekście rozwoju gospodarczego kraju. W artykule przeprowadzono badanie na podstawie wyznaczonych taksonomicznych mierników rozwoju opisujących sytuację demograficzną oraz rozwój gospodarczy dla 66 podregionów (NUTS-3) na podstawie wybranych zmiennych diagnostycznych w okresie 2004–2012. W pracy dokonano analizy przestrzennych rozkładów wyznaczonych miar syntetycznych w zakresie identyfikacji trendów przestrzennych i przestrzennej autokorelacji. Porównano wyniki otrzymane dla poszczególnych lat badanego okresu, sformułowano wnioski oraz nakreślono kierunki dalszych badań.
