Training in order to prepare operational land forces troops to carry out their tasks is the most important aim for all command bodies whose main effort is concentrated on preparing organisational (functional) cells to conduct tasks. In reference to the Polish Armed Forces, the main problem is that the existing concepts to adjust the system of command training only to national requirements have become outdated. A conclusion can be drawn that the system developed and implemented in the 90s of the past century does not meet the training standards binding in NATO armies. Taking into consideration the problem of functioning of the training system of mechanised - light and/or armoured - heavy brigades' commands, one can assume that its aim should currently be to prepare the commanders to plan and command the operational and tactical actions conducted by subordinated units on national, allied and international level on the territory of the country and outside. Therefore the knowledge and abilities of the brigade’s commander and staff officers must ensure effective and rational decision making concerning the use of troops (sub-units) in any situation due to operational tasks and needs to fulfil assumptions thanks to which these tasks can be achieved.

The military has introduced last year new normative documents known as doctrines. An example of these could be the instruction on the preparation of conducting exercises with commanders and troops of the Polish Armed Forces, which is designated as DD/7.1.1. Taking into consideration of doctrinal records, the author presents in this article the composition, tasks of the teams and persons in charge of tactical-special exercises with company-size communications units. The proper selection of personnel and funtional teams for the supervision of such exercise can guarantee its proper administration. Depending on the level of command the organisational structure of the exercises’ leadership, the tasks of the supervising personnel and functional teams will vary. Therefore, the article should be viewed as a source for discussion or further search for such organisational structure of an exercises’ supervising personnel, which would on one hand be suitable from the doctrinal perspective, and on the other be proper from the exercise’s needs perspective.
