Cabri 3D is a software which connects geometry and algebra to enable measuring length, distance, area, angles, scalar product, volume and use them in calculations or in algebraic expressions. Cabri 3D gives new opportunities for teaching three-dimentional Euclidean geometry. In this work we describe some tools and functions of Cabri 3D. We also give a skech of using this mathematical software to create 2D and 3D figures and explore a figure’s properties by manipulating its variable elements.

The low-pressure cold spray (LPCS) technique is used to produce conducting, anticorrosive, insulating, etc., coatings. In order to increase the efficiency of the process the latter is often automated by attaching the spraying gun to a robot or a manipulator. However, because of the large number of interdependent parameters the thickness of the run obtained in one pass of the spraying gun may range from a few hundred micrometres to as much as a few millimetres. As a result, a coating with varied surface waviness and roughness is obtained. This paper focuses on determining the optimal LPCS process parameters yielding a coating having the desired thickness. For this purpose, the Taguchi method was employed whereby the experiment could be properly designed and the principal parameters having the greatest influence on the process could be determined. The L16′ orthogonal table, four key process parameters and four levels of values for each were used. The input parameters were: powder feeding rate, spraying gun travel velocity, gas pressure and temperature. The output parameter was coating thickness. For verification purposes composite (aluminium + alumina) coatings were deposited.

The paper presents a verification of the multifractal analysis proposed in other papers. It has been found that the analysis of simulated profiles formed by removing overlaps and secondary cracks from a real profile ( which corresponds to a file obtained from a profilographometer) ensures proper diversity of fractal characterization, adequate for the degree of fracture surface development of the investigated grades of sintered carbide measured with a Taylor - Hobson's Talysurf 2 profilographometer.

Experimental verification of the theoretical methodology for describing a material's fracture morphology using multifractal analyis of a stereometrically examined surface ( full 3D analysis) is presented. A high effectiveness of a multifractal analysis has been shown for a diversified multifractal spectrum width and for a quantitative description of overlaps. The values obtained are very similar to those obtained by the quasi 3D method [ 6] as well as by conventional analysis, that is analysis of the profile images obtained from transverse microsections. The method presented, however, is the least time-consuming, the cheapest and seems to be the most objective for fracture morphology analyses.

Przeprowadzono badania wpływu zmiany ustawienia noży na ich obciążenie z wykorzystaniem programu komputerowego przeznaczonego do wspomagania procesu projektowania i doboru głowic urabiających w określonych warunkach geologiczno-górniczych KREON v. 1.1. Dla zaprojektowanej głowicy zmieniano położenie wierzchołka jednego noża skrawającego. Zmiana ustawienia noża poprzez zmianę położenia wierzchołka ostrza noża powoduje zmniejszenie objętości skrawu realizowanego przez ten nóż i zmniejszenie sił działających na niego, przy równoczesnym wzroście obciążenia sąsiedniego noża lub wzrost sił działających na nóż o zmienionym położeniu.

Investigations into the influence of change of knives arrangement on their load using the computer programme intended to assist the process of design and selection of cutting heads for determined mining and geological conditions KREON v. 1.1. were carried out. For the designed head the position of one cutting knife vertex was changed. The change of knife arrangement through the change of the position of knife edge vertex causes the decrease of the volume of cut realized by this knife and reduction of forces acting on it with simultaneous increase of load of the adjacent knife or increase of forces acting on the knife with changed position.
