A new idea of control of stepping linear actuator was tested using computer simulation. The idea is based upon adjusting stepping rate of the actuator to the actual load force acting on pusher to keep synchronism of its movement. Simulation model of actuator was used to determine its pull-in characteristic, which was consequently employed in the proposed control algorithm. Results of simulation experiments of the modified actuator encouraged the author to check the idea at the laboratory stage. Tests of the real actuator performed on a special stand proved its ability to complete its positioning tasks properly under varying load.
