The article presents the significance of medical and botanic literature for the activity of the monasteries located in the eastern territories of the former Republic of Poland in 16th–18th century, drawing on the example of the Ostroh Jesuit college library collection. The author has carried out a historical and bibliological analysis of medical and botanic literature from the Ostroh collection, as well as investigated the provenance of the books it holds. The researched material constitutes a valuable source for the study of the history of medicine in Ukraine.
