Traditional immobilisation of fractured bones by means of splints and plaster dressings is at present replaced with external fixators, i.e. rigid systems coupled with the bone by means of screwed implants. Despite the fact that the fixators are used more and more commonly, there are still applied traditional manual methods of setting the fractured bones that require applying large forces, what makes the surgeon's work very difficult. In the paper, there is presented a design of a frame to be fixed to a fixator element above the fracture. At its end, there is attached a winch machine that enables to overcome the largest force, which occurs while setting the fractured b6nes,. called a tonus. After performing the operation, i.e. setting the fracture and installing the fixator, the winch machine can be replaced with a foot that enables to transmit loads, which occur while walking, above the fracture. The frame can be applied in conventional as well as veterinary medicine.

Tradycyjne unieruchomienia złamanych kości za pomocą łubków lub opatrunków gipsowych, są obecnie zastępowane przez zewnętrzne stabilizatory czyli sztywne układy, łączone z kością za pomocą gwintowanych wszczepów. Mimo coraz powszechniejszego stosowania stabilizatorów, ciągle używane są tradycyjne, ręczne metody nastawiania złamanych kości, wymagające działania dużymi siłami, bardzo utrudniające pracę chirurga. W referacie przedstawiono konstrukcję ramy mocowanej do elementu stabilizatora powyżej złamania. Na jej końcu mocuje się wyciągarkę, która umożliwia pokonanie największej siły, występującej podczas nastawiania złamanych kości, zwanej tonusem mięśniowym. Po wykonaniu zabiegu nastawienia złamania i zamontowaniu całego stabilizatora, w miejsce wciągarki może być założona stopa, pozwalająca na przenoszenie ponad złamanie obciążeń występujących podczas chodzenia. Rama może być stosowana w medycynie i weterynarii.

Methods of healing fractures belong undoubtedly to the oldest group in the history of medicine. Yet, there are still carried out intensive studies related to searching for new methods as well as perfecting of the existing ones. One of them is unquestionably the external osteosynthesis with application of external orthopaedic fixators. It has been well known for a long time that providing micro-movements within the interstice of the fracture favours the progress of the bone union processes by stimulating growth of the callus. The motion is very significant while healing joint fractures or periarthric fractures. Because of a difficulty in reflecting kinematics of the knee joint for the purpose of external fixation, the paper presents a proposal of an analytic-experimental method that allows for a simple achievement of this goal.

Praca poświęcona jest modelowaniu kinematyki stawów ludzkich. Celem badań jest projektowanie elementów ortopedycznych stabilizatorów zewnętrznych , które mogą odwzorowywać ruch stawów ludzkich. Szczególna uwaga zwrócona została na staw kolanowy. Stabilizatory wyposażone w takie układy znacząco przyspieszają zrost i eliminują powikłania w leczeniu złamań okołostawowych.
