W pracy przedstawiono metodę zarządzania wariantami bram garażowych w procesie rozwoju produktów przez rozpoznanie przyczyn różnorodności i zastosowanie zasad prawidłowego wariantowania. Zastosowano analizę procesów produktu pozwalającą na budowę rodziny części (sprężyn) uporządkowanych w sparametryzowanych katalogach. W pracy analizuje się najczęściej stosowany odciążający układ dwóch skrętowych sprężyn śrubowych walcowych z drutu o przekroju kołowym z napięciem wstępnym zwojów. Nowe podejście do projektowania typoszeregów mieszanych bram jest oparte na analizie statystycznej produkcji i zasadach budowy ekonomicznych rodzin konstrukcji.

The following work presents the method of management of variants in the process of products development through identification of the causes of diversity and application of the correct varianting principles. The analysis of product processes has been applied that allows for building the family of parts (springs) ordered in parametered catalogues. This work analyses the most commonly applied relief structure of bending cylinder screw springs made of wire with circle-section with initial tension of coils. The statistical analysis, as well as the series of types of garage gates built according to the principles known allowed for the further development of the new approach to designing the mixed series of types.

The paper shows the structure of a mechanical spring with controllable stiffness and outlines the temperature control systems solutions. This spring was developed in the Department of Process Control, AGH University of Scien­ce and Technology (AGH-UST). Its main components are bars made from shape memory alloy (SMA). The unique properties of SMA are outlined. Of particular importance are parameters that affect the spring special behaviour. The spring was tested in an experimental set-up and the compiled test results are provided. Chosen results was shown for different excitations and working temperatures. Obtained results show that the spring built using SMA has many interesting features. It is clear that the spring changes its stiffness during changing working temperature. Unfortunately spring stiffness has nonlinear behaviour so that in the paper was proposed a nonlinear mathematical model of the spring. Model was developed having in mind its usage. It was built for designing a controller spring stiffness.

W artykule przedstawiono konstrukcję mechaniczną sprężyny o sterowanej sztywności, jak również układy sterujące jej temperaturą. Sprężynę tę opracowano w Katedrze Automatyzacji Procesów Akademii Górniczo-Hutniczej w Krakowie. Głównym elementem sprężyny są pręty wykonane z metalu z pamięcią kształtu SMA (Shape Memory Alloy). W artykule skrótowo przedstawiono podstawowe właściwości SMA, przy czym zwrócono szczególną uwagę na parametry istotne dla własności sprężyny. Sprężynę przebadano na stanowisku laboratoryjnym. Wybrane wyniki przedstawiono w niniejszym artykule. Badania przeprowadzono dla różnych wymuszeń i temperatur. Otrzymane wyniki pokazują, że sprężyna zbudowana z SMA ma wiele interesujących właściwości m.in. to, że sztywność sprężyny zmienia się wraz ze zmianą jej temperatury pracy. Niestety charakterystyki sprężyny są nieliniowe, dlatego zaproponowano nieliniowy model matematyczny. Model został zbudowany na potrzeby syntezy regulatora sztywności sprężyny.

Water spring are vital to all human activities. The integration of hydrological, geological, hydrogeological and ecological characteristics of resource ecosystems provides a much needed tool for recognizing the characteristics and their distribution. The objective of this study was to identify springs in the study area, in order to evaluate their hydrogeological characteristics and parameters. Eight springs have been identified in the Golesh Massif area. They are mainly of lithological contact. Water flow ranging from 0.03 to 5 l/s, the temperature, pH and total hardness in the water of spring Curreli range within 11.1 to 15.7 °C, 5.51 to 8.03 °C and 18.8 to 21.67 °dH, respectively. Their recharge mainly depends on the amount of precipitations that falls in the area.

The system considered in this paper consists of a real time operated armament module, i.e. the large-calibre special object. The methodology for calculating parameters of a recoil reduction spring is presented. The characteristics of the damping system based on the magnetorheological (MR) dampers are included. The most important feature was to maintain constant rate of fire, regardless damping, provided by the controlled MR damper. Furthermore, it was important to maintain the proper operation of the piston rod, which should always reach the maximum displacement position and come back to the initial position, regardless the number of operation cycles per minute. In our case 600-650 cycles per minute were considered. The theoretical results were compared with numerical simulations using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), which gave fair agreement.

This article refers to the tradition of the ‘spring’ motif in art and literature, especially in the Young Poland period. The issue the author brings under close scrutiny is how the symbolism of spring is used in the dramatic work The Return of Spring by Tadeusz Konczyński. She draws out attention to the portrait of the female protagonist, who shows reminiscence of mythological Venus as well as embodiment of youth, simplicity and spontaneity. Then she proceeds to analyse the symbolism of spring as the time that stimulates the birth of feelings and initiates long-lasting and genuine bonds, which counterbalance “the parlour love” with its pragmatic dimension. The key notion of the symbolics of spring is also incorporated into the opposition: nature-culture. Here it is linked to the vision of the world returning to nature, the world deeply rooted in the traditional system of values, where man may experience spiritual rebirth and regain faith in their existence after a period of life turbulence. After all, spring symbolises creative inspiration. The latter reveals itself both in the context of creating a literary work by the protagonist and in the universal dimension – the act of moulding of one’s self and one’s life. The deliberations lead the dialogue of the the writer’s dramatic work with the tradition of the Young Poland movement.

The work analyzes the possibility of using a truck chassis in terms of installing a specific device. As part ofwork was selected the vehicle, identified the necessary geometric parameters and the mass allowing of modernization, with particular emphasis on the required structural changes in the front and rear suspension. To this were used, the developed two phase methodology of calculation of the metal elastic elements (springs) and mechanical lateral tilt stabilizers. Results of numerical calculations are presented in the form of recommendations to redesign of the front and rear suspension. However, in the front suspension should be made a new spring and a mechanical lateral tilt stabilizer, while rear spring suspension meets the requirements in terms of elastic characteristics (adequate the coefficient of rigidity) is requiredonly adjustment of the static deflection of the suspension for example by adjusting the radii of leaf of the spring. Because of the design solution of the driving rear axle (so called driving axle trolley) was not proposed mechanical lateral tilt stabilizer. Paper present diagram of the forces acting on a vehicle with special equipment, results of the calculation loads acting on the suspension components fitted to a lorry with a special device, results of the calculation loads acting on the base vehicle suspension components, the basic parameters of a lorry with special hull and performance graph of the front suspension leaf spring resilience.

The Hāsyārṇava of Jagadīśvara (14th century CE), because of its crude and, sometimes, vulgar tones, is one of the least studied prahasanas. The work depicts the celebration of the Spring Festival, Vasantotsava, with particular features which have few parallels in Sanskrit literature. The sacred meaning of the festivity in itself, which showed connections with the cult of Kāma and in this way centred on the themes of birth and regeneration, is mocked through comical devices. These themes contribute to outline a frame characterized by vulgar and degraded sexual elements. Despite its farcical and grotesque atmosphere, this comical piece undoubtedly underlines deep connections existing between a ritualistic act (understood here as the undertaking of the rite in the prahasana itself) and performative theatre in general.

Fine particulate organic matter (FPOM), originated by aggregation of smaller particles and by decomposition of bigger particles, usually presents the dominant energy and nutrient source in the primary river net. Relationships between detrital components, environmental factors and macroinvertebrate composition were investigated in 52 submontane organogenic spring areas in small catchment in the Šumava foothills, Czech Republic. All three types of springs (helocrenes rheocrenes and limnocrenes) were represented, as well as springs with the transitional character. The selected springs were permanent, with water discharge higher than 0.1 L s-1, they all were coldwater and stenothermic, with the winter water temperature at the point of the source ranging from 2.0 to 9.9°C. At each spring area, the main morphological and physical characteristics of the spring and surrounding area were recorded. Samples of detritus were collected (using the 2 mL sampling tube) from up to 5 microhabitats at each spring, usually macrophyte vegetation, point of the source, detrital deposition, sand, algal mat, leaf litter or moss, accordingly to the microhabitats, which were present. Macroinvertebrates were semiquantitatively sampled using a 15-cm circular sampler with 0.8 mm mesh, to the orders or lower taxa were determined. Water samples were taken, and analyses of the main physico-chemical factors were carried out. In our set of springs, organic substrate prevailed. Only small differences in the physico-chemical parameters (e.g. pH = 5.96 ± 0.39; mean ± SD) and low concentrations of nutrients (e.g. N-NO3 - = 0.79 ± 0.86 mg L-1, ortho-PPO4 - = 0.0336 ± 0.0275 mg L-1) were noted, whereas studied geomorphological parameters and microhabitat types were more diverse. The proportion of basic microscopically differentiable components of the detritus was similar in all spring types and microhabitats. In all study sites, faecal pellet content was dominant in the detritus (49%) followed by plant residuals (26%) and amorphous matter (21%). High faecal pellet content is considered to be a consequence of a steadily low temperature in the springs. The correlation among the presence of macroinvertebrate groups and particular detrital components content was not significant, except for Trichoptera; the abundance of this group was positively correlated with the proportion of plantv residuals in detritus in vegetation microhabitats. Faecal pellet content showed a weak negative correlation with N-NH4 concentration, which is probably the result of faster faecal pellet decomposition in springs with higher N-NH4 contents.
