Artykuł przedstawia problematykę bezpiecznych metod czyszczenia i kontroli zbiorników węgla, eksploatowanych w warunkach dołowych kopalń węgla kamiennego, na przykładzie JSW S.A. KWK „Pniówek". Zwraca uwagę na aspekt zagrożenia związanego ze specyfiką prac na wysokości oraz potrzebę minimalizowania tego zagrożenia poprzez wykorzystanie do tych czynności technik alpinizmu przemysłowego.

Coal reservoirs are an important element of the technological process. Their walls may be contaminated with sediments from the mined coal (overhangs on the housing of tanks and even jamming at their outlets) hindering their operation, which results in disturbances of the mine's operations. The applicable regulations impose an obligation on the entrepreneur to carry out a periodic inspection of the condition of coal reservoir housings. Each inspection is preceded by thorough cleaning of their housing, ensuring safety of the inspectors and reducing the problems related to the operation of the tanks. In the mining industry, inspection of brickwork of reservoirs is carried out in one of three ways: from the pile of mined coal accumulated in the tank, from a mobile platform suspended on ropes attached to beams that are built into the ceiling of the chamber above the reservoir, or using industrial mountaineering techniques. The article describes the use of mountaineering method on the example of Hard Coal Mine „Pniowek". Cleaning and inspection of reservoirs is carried out here by specialised rescue teams for operations in vertical workings, on action basis. Their plan is reviewed each time by the district mine rescue station. The actions are carried out by specialised rescue teams. Owing to this, their members can improve their skills, work out and consolidate the procedures. All this together allows for carrying out the work safely with the use of mountaineering techniques, and ensures uninterrupted operation of coal reservoirs.

Referat przedstawia organizację i funkcjonowanie specjalistycznych zastępów ratowniczych do prac w wyrobiskach pionowych lub o dużym nachyleniu. Opisano wymagania przepisów dla prac na wysokości. Zaprezentowano specjalistyczny sprzęt i sposób prowadzenia szkoleń. Przedstawiono przykłady akcji ratowniczych i prac profilaktycznych prowadzonych z wykorzystaniem technik alpinistycznych.

The paper presents the organization and the way of functioning of specialized rescue teams working in mine shafts or steeply sloping excavations. The requirements of regulations for work on the heights were described. The specialist equipment and the way of conducting trainings were presented. The examples of the rescue operations and prevention services using climbing techniques were presented.
