The subject of this article is the analysis of the prose of one of the most outstanding Ukrainian writers of the 1920s, Mykola Khvylovy, paying special attention to the issues of senses and sensuality. The analyses carried out have shown that the writer often reaches for olfactory trails as well as motifs connected with the senses of sight and touch. In the course of research it was revealed that in some of his works the trails of senses, and especially the sense of smell, were used to create a subtle portrayal of female corporality.
