In order to enhance the visual quality of images obtained by underwater imaging systems, super resolution (SR) reconstruction is introduced, including single-frame and multi-frame SR algorithms. Experimental images from a range-gated pulsed laser imaging system are processed by SR algorithms, results are evaluated and compared by blind, objective quality metrics. Results show that the image quality of underwater imaging can be effectively enhanced if the appropriate SR reconstruction algorithm is chosen.
This paper mainly concentrates and discusses on sugarcane crop, the variety of cane seeds available for sowing; various cane diseases and its early detection using different approaches. Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) techniques are used to analyze agricultural data like temperature, soil quality, yield prediction, selling price forecasts, etc. and avoid crop damage from a variety of sources, including diseases. In the proposed work, with particular reference to eight specific sugarcane crop diseases and including healthy crop database, the neural network algorithms are tested and verified in terms quality metrics like accuracy, F1 score, recall and precision.

Voice Activity Detectors (VADs) are widely used in speech processing applications such as speech enhancement and coding. In speech enhancement systems, we use VAD in order to obtain more accurate estimation of noise. Voice activity detection methods usually work in time or frequency domains. In this paper, we propose two approaches for voice activity detection in wavelet domain for continuous noise estimation: Subband VAD and Full-band VAD. We use the correct noise/speech classification rate to show the acceptable performance of our proposed VADs. In addition, we apply sub-band VAD to a speech enhancement system. Objective and subjective measures show that Sub-band VAD outperforms Fullband VAD in noise reduction applications.

The main topic of this paper is the quality of the WWW service evaluation. The authors present well-known measurement methods, and present the new “Power” metric for quality, advocating it as a method of assessing the quality of such service. This metric is based on the most important network parameters that affect any assessment of the WWW service, i.e. Web page opening time and download data transfer rate. The new method is easy to implement, fast in operation, and provides stable and repeatable results.

Edge Similarity Metrics (ESMs) are necessary to objectively quantify the inadvertent blur at the edge pixels which occurs during denoising. They are helpful for evaluating edge-preserving capability of nonlinear filters. Most of the ESMs in literature, consider similarity of either strength of the edges or their direction individually. They lag in terms of concordance with subjective edge similarity ratings. An Objective Edge Similarity Metric (OESM) which considers all three attributes of edges; strength, direction and width together, is proposed in this paper. Pearson's Correlation shown by Gradient Magnitude Similarity Deviation (GMSD), Gradient Similarity Measure (GSM), Edge Strength Similarity Index Metric (ESSIM) and OESM with Subjective Edge Similarity Score (SESS) are ˗0.9669 ± 0.0028, 0.9566 ± 0.0053, 0.9507 ± 0.0057 and 0.9848 ± 0.0038, respectively. OESM is able to measure the degree of edge similarity between images more efficiently than GMSD, GSM and ESSIM. It reflects the perceptual edge similarity between images more accurately than GMSD, GSM and ESSIM.
Głównym tematem artykułu jest ocena jakości usługi WWW. Przedstawiono w nim znane metody pomiarowe tego rodzaju usługi, jak również propozycje nowej metryki Power. Metryka ta opiera się na najważniejszych parametrach sieciowych, mających wpływ na ocenę usługi WWW, tzn. na czasie otwierania stron WWW i szybkości transmisji danych pobieranych z serwera WWW. Nowa metoda jest łatwa w implementacji, szybka w realizacji i dostarcza stabilne, powtarzalne wyniki pomiarów w badanym środowisku.
