In this paper we give a data dependence theorem for multivalued weakly φ-contractive operators. Then, we define the concept of ball with respect to w-distance and we present fixed point results for multivalued contractive type operators using this ball.

In this paper we generalize the Lefschetz fixed point theorem from the case of metric ANR-s to the case of acceptable subsets of Klee admissible spaces. The results presented in this paper were announced in an earlier publication of the authors.

EN
In this paper, we introduce the concept of compatible mappings of type (C) in normed spaces and compare these mappings with compatible mappings of type (A) and compatible mappings of type (B). In the sequel, we establish a common fixed point theorem for two pairs of compatible mappings of type (C) for Gregus type contraction condition. Our main result improves, extends and modifies several known results.

Opial presented in 1967 a theorem, which can be applied in order to prove the weak convergence of sequences (xk) in a Hilbert space, generated by iterative schemes of the form xk+1= Uxk for a nonexpansive and asymptotically regular operator U with nonempty Fix U. Several iterative schemes have, however, the form xk+i1 = UkXk, where (Uk) is a sequence of operators with a common fixed point. We show that under some conditions on the sequence (Uk) the sequence (xk) converges weakly to a common fixed point of operators Uk- We show also that the Opial's theorem and the Krasnoselskii-Mann theorem are the corollaries descending from the obtained results. Finally, we present some applications of the results to the convex feasibility problems.

In this paper the existence of subharmonic orbits in planar Hamiltonian system x = f(x) + [epsilon]g(x,t) is revisited. The existing error in treatment on this problem is discussed and a new rigorous treatment is given.

The paper is concerned with the existence of positive solutions for the nonlinear eigenvalue problem with singularity and the superlinear semipositone problem of higher order delay differential equations. The main results are obtained by using Guo-Krasnoselskii's fixed point tbearem In cones. These results extend some of the existing literature.

In this paper, we study strong convergence theorems for a generalized three-step iterative scheme with errors to approximate common fixed points of three asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive mappings in real Banach spaces. Our results generalize and improve upon the corresponding results in [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [9], [13] and [16]. As an application of our results, we give and prove strong convergence theorems in uniformly convex Banach spaces.

Let X be a Banach space, C a closed subset of X, and T : C --> C a nonexpansive mapping. Conditions are given which assure that if the fixed point set F(T) of T has nonempty interior then the Picard iterates of the mapping T always converge to a point of F(T). If T is asymptotically regular, it suffices to assume that the closed subsets of X are densely proximinal and that nested spheres in X have compact interfaces. Such spaces include, among others, those which have Rolewicz's property ([beta]). If X has strictly convex norm the asymptotic regularity assumption can be dropped and the nested sphere property holds trivially. Consequently the result holds for all reflexive locally uniformly convex spaces.

In the present paper we prove a common fixed point theorem (Theorem 1) for four mappings under the (ε, δ) contractive condition, however, without either imposing any additional restriction on δ or assuming the ∅-contractive condition together with. While proving the theorem, neither the completeness of the metric space is assumed nor any of the mappings is required to be continuous. Thus we also provide one more answer to the problem of Rhoades [24] which ensures the existence of common fixed point, however, does not force the maps to be continuous at the common fixed point. Theorem 2 generalizes further the result obtained in Theorem 1.

Starting from a result in [V. Berinde,Generalized contractions in quasimetric spaces, Seminar on Fixed Point Theory (Preprint), "Babeş-Bolyai" University of Cluj-Napoca, 3 (1993), 3-9 ], we prove the existence and uniqueness of the fixed points for φ-contractions on b-metric spaces. We also build a theory of this fixed point result.

The mean return time of a discrete Markov chain to a point x is the reciprocal of the invariant probability π(x). We revisit this classical theme to investigate certain exit times for stochastic difference equations of autoregressive type. More specifically, we will discuss the asymptotics, as 0, of the first time that the n-dimensional process ...[wzór] (where ξ1, ξ2, . . . is a sequence of i.i.d. random n-vectors) leaves a given neighborhood of the fixed point of the contraction f.

We prove the existence of fixed point for weakly contractive multivalued maps satisfying the inwardness condition in the framework of a convex metric space. Fixed point theorems for multivalued contraction mapping taking the closed values are also obtained. These theorems extend several known results.
