Komunikacja trolejbusowa nie jest popularną formą transportu miejskiego w Polsce, ale polski producent taboru dla komunikacji - Solaris Bus & Coach - jest wiodącym producentem trolejbusów niskopodłogowych w Europie. W artykule przedstawiono ideę budowy trolejbusów, rozwój konstrukcji oraz postęp w produkcji i sprzedaży trolejbusów w latach 2001-2014. W analizowanym okresie polska firma wprowadziła na rynek nowy produkt – trolejbus niskopodłogowy, który następnie rozwijała we współpracy z krajowymi i zagranicznymi montowniami i dostawcami napędów. Najlepszy okres wiąże się z rozpoczęciem w 2007 roku współpracy z doświadczonym producentem trolejbusów i napędów elektrycznych – firmą Škoda Electric z Czech. Ta firma, tradycyjnie silna na rynkach Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej umożliwiła rozwój eksportu i znaczne podniesienie produkcji. W latach 2001-2014 wyprodukowano łącznie 898 trolejbusów, w tym najwięcej we współpracy z firmą Škoda – ok. 400. Trolejbusy marki Solaris sprzedawano w 15 państwach europejskich, w tym najwięcej w Bułgarii, Czechach i Polsce.

The trolleybus transport is not a popular form of public transport in Poland, but the Polish manufacturer of vehicles for public transport - Solaris Bus & Coach - is a leading manufacturer of low-floor trolleybuses in Europe. This paper presents the idea of producing of trolleybuses, project development and progress in the production and sale of trolleybuses in the years 2001-2014. In the analyzed period, Polish company has launched a new product - low-floor trolleybus, which developped in cooperation with domestic and foreign assemblers and suppliers drives. The best time is associated with the start of the 2007 collaboration with an experienced manufacturer of trolley buses and electric drives - Škoda Electric Company from The Czech Republic. This company, traditionally strong on the markets of Central and Eastern Europe has enabled the development of exports and a significant increase in production. In the years 2001-2014 produced a total of 898 trolleybuses, including many in cooperation with Škoda - approx. 400. The trolleybuses of Solaris were sold in 15 European countries, including most of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Poland.

Trolejbusy nie są popularnym środkiem transportu miejskiego w Polsce, ale krajowi producencitaboru komunikacyjnego mają duże doświadczenie i znaczące osiągnięcia w produkcji i eksporcie tego typupojazdów. Głównym wytwórcą trolejbusów w Unii Europejskiej stała się w ostatniej dekadzie firma SolarisBus & Coach z Bolechowa, która w latach 2001–2014 wyprodukowała prawie 900 takich pojazdów, w tymtylko niespełna 140 na rynek krajowy. Produkcja trolejbusów marki Solaris była na tyle duża, że znaczącowpłynęła na rynek producentów tego środka transportu w Unii Europejskiej i w Europie. Szczególnie dużeznaczenie miała dla krajów Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej, gdzie nadal funkcjonuje wiele systemów transportutrolejbusowego. W artykule zbadano przemiany rynku producentów trolejbusów w Europie, zarównow zakresie lokalizacji, jak i wielkości produkcji, w ostatnich 15 latach. Do wykonania badań niezbędna byłakwerenda wśród producentów trolejbusów w Europie i w innych instytucjach. W jej następstwie zebranodane dotyczące wytwórców trolejbusów w całej Unii Europejskiej, Szwajcarii i w państwach postsocjalistycznychEuropy Wschodniej. Poza przedstawieniem wielkości i lokalizacji produkcji zobrazowano międzynarodowepowiązania eksportowe, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem trolejbusów polskiej firmy Solaris. Zbadanomodele funkcjonowania producentów na rynku trolejbusowym oraz określono ich wzajemne relacje. Wynikibadań zostały przedstawione w formie opracowań kartograficznych.

Trolleybuses are not a popular mode of public transport in Poland, but national manufacturers of public transport vehicles have extensive experience and significant achievements in production and export of this type of vehicles. In the last decade Solaris Bus & Coach from Bolechów became the main producer of trolleybuses in the European Union. In the years 2001-2014 Solaris produced nearly 900 vehicles, however, less than 140 of them were intended for the domestic market. Production of the Solaris trolleybuses was so large that it significantly affected the market of producers of this mode of public transport in the European Union and Europe in general. It was particularly important for countries of Central and Eastern Europe, in which many trolleybus transport systems still operate. The article examines the changes of the trolleybus production market in Europe, both in terms of location and volume of production during over the last 15 years. The query among manufacturers of trolleybuses in Europe and other institutions was necessary to perform research. As a consequence, the data were collected on trolleybuses manufacturers throughout the European Union, Switzerland and the former socialist countries of Eastern Europe. In addition to presenting the size and location of production export connections, with particular emphasis on Polish trolleybuses of Solaris, were illustrated. The co-operation models of trolleybus producers on the market were examined and their relationship determined. The results are presented in the form of cartographic studies.
