The article is devoted to the analysis of an innovative form of the prayer book. It has been given the form of an artifact similar to the cure. In this way it implies a reference to the metaphor the prayer book is a cure. The entirety of the material is treated in the analyses as a collection of genres of unusual contours. The genre characteristics includes the following types of utterances: a collection of texts on a package, a leaflet for the patient and a proper prayer book. The first two types are a contamination of utilitarian genres presenting a cure and catechetical or cult genres, whereas the prayer book refers to the modernized versions of the genre. The author treats the entirety (a collection of utterances) as communication stylized to form an advertisement, yet in the communication sense and not the generic one. A collection of diverse utterances is (just like advertisements): appealing, suggestive, comprehensible and easy to remember. Perceiving the prayer book in terms of a cure and giving it the external form of the medicine results in creation of a new formula of the genre. The genre code of the prayer book has been expanded and supplemented with new exponents. The catechetical discourse (including the integral catechesis) has gained new carriers of persuasiveness by the reference to the advertising discourse.

Artykuł jest poświęcony analizie innowacyjnej formy modlitewnika. Nadano mu bowiem formę artefaktu podobnego do leku. W ten sposób nawiązano do metafory modlitewnik to lekarstwo. Całość jest w analizach potraktowana jako kolekcja gatunków o niezwykłych konturach. Charakterystyka genologiczna obejmuje następujące typy wypowiedzi: zbiór tekstów na opakowaniu, ulotkę dla pacjenta, właściwy modlitewnik. Dwa pierwsze typy stanowią kontaminację gatunków użytkowych prezentujących lekarstwo i gatunków katechetycznych lub kultowych. Modlitewnik zaś nawiązuje do zmodernizowanych wersji gatunku. Całość (kolekcję komunikatów) autorka traktuje jako przekaz wystylizowany na reklamę, lecz w sensie komunikacyjnym nie gatunkowym. Zbiór różnorodnych komunikatów jest (jak reklama): atrakcyjny, sugestywny, zrozumiały i łatwy do zapamiętania. Postrzeganie modlitewnika w kategoriach leku i nadanie mu zewnętrznej formy medykamentu owocuje powstaniem nowej formuły gatunkowej. Kod gatunkowy modlitewnika został poszerzony i uzupełniony o nowe wyznaczniki. Dyskurs katechetyczny (obejmujący katechezę integralną) zyskał nowe nośniki perswazyjności przez odwołanie do dyskursu reklamowego.

At the very beginning of his review, the author indicates that Notatnik i modlitewnik drogowy by Henryk Waniek is a remarkably eccentric piece of writing (in accordance with the etymology of this word as located outside centres), placing itself outside dominant discourses and modes. In Waniek’s book artistic competence and talents merge as it also contains some prints by the author. Despite the absolute originality of the title, it has been taken from a certain semantic field of meanings close to Waniek and well known to him from his Silesian peregrinations. Therefore, it can be said that the nomadic prose of this publication is part of the geopoetic trend (the author sees Silesia, sees a road, sees space for its own sake), yet it also remains characteristic of Waniek’s writing in being esoteric, esseistic, reminiscent and metaliterary

Tout au début, l’auteur du compte rendu mentionne que Notatnik i modlitewnik drogowy de Henryk Waniek est un ouvrage particulièrement excentrique (conformément à l’étymologie de ce terme : se plaçant en dehors du centre), se situant à l’extérieur de la majorité des centrales qui orientent les discours et les modes. Étant donné que la publication contient des gravures de l’auteur, on peut y trouver des compétences et talents artistiques qui se croisent. Malgré son originalité, le titre a été conçu dans un certain champ de significations qui sont proches à Waniek et qu’il connaît très bien grâce à ses pèlerinages silésiens. On peut donc constater que la prose nomade de cette publication s’inscrit dans le courant de la géopétique (l’auteur voit la Silésie, il voit un chemin, il voit des espaces pour eux-mêmes), mais elle reste traditionnellement waniékien : elle est ésotérique, propre à l’essai et aux souvenirs, métalittéraire.
