The hydrometeorological factors affecting the operation of the port are presented in this elaboration. At first the port system of hydrometeorological screen is described. Next the navigational restrictions based on the port by-laws are presented taking the wind, the stream, the visibility and the water level into consideration . The subject concerning the flow of hydrometeorological information between contractors is also raised in this elaboration. The wind, the humidity and the temperature restrictions which affect the work of handing facilities, the transhipment and the storage process are also presented. In conclusion it is suggested to inculate the authorised survey net of the most important weather factors in the port of Szczecin.

Conducting business in the areas of Natura 2000 need special care. Deepening the lane Szczecin – Swinoujscie, which connect Szczecin port and the Baltic Sea, is a form of infringement to the natural environment of these areas. Deepening and increasing with increasing lane depth - maintenance work, have made changes to the landscape of Szczecin Lagoon and biotopes. It also causes difficulties in the practice of individual and collective water tourism.

In 13th November 2007 The Council of Minister adopted “Strategy of development of the seaports to year 2015”. Till now passed almost four years and polish seaports have made first decisions and investments to achieve the main objective of the Strategy. Taking close look on seaports in Szczecin and in Świnoujście, we can see that they finished they first investments in infrastructure and are planning few more in next years. Beside this both seaports are increasing their services and are taking care of their good image. All this actions are bringing both seaports closer to achieve the main objective of the Strategy.
