All the models of pollutant propagation in water distribution networks have to assume many simplifications. It is so, because of hydro-mechanical complexity of water distribution networks. Also the same phenomenon of the propagation of waterborne substances in pipeline has many aspects, which result in complexity of describing such propagation equations. One of these aspects is dispersion. In the most cases its influence on propagation is neglected and, what more, not discussed. In authors' opinion such discuss should be done for several reasons. In pipelines of water distribution networks water flow has mainly turbulent character, what results in dispersion in advection. The case of turbulent flow is the linear resistance of flow. This resistance has result in one of the most important parameters of water distribution network. This parameter is the head loss. So, if the models of propagation base on parameters of water distribution network models, dispersion in models of propagation should be discussed at least. Authors have calculated influence of dispersion in broadening of shapes of pollutant distribution, for two simple shapes. Results convince authors, that dispersion should be taken into account in modelling of propagation. Finally, results should be checked yet by comparison of predictions of two models: with dispersion and without this, calculated from the same input values.
