Przeprowadzono symulację pracy elektrociepłowni z wyporowym zasobnikiem gorącej wody sieciowej w czasie sezonu ogrzewniczego. Określono przyrost przychodów ze sprzedaży dodatkowej, wyprodukowanej dzięki działaniu zasobnika energii elektrycznej szczytowej. Analiza ekonomiczno-finansowa wykazała zysk możliwy do osiągnięcia po zrealizowaniu inwestycji.

A heat storage tank enables the CHP plant to produce power in the periods with high electrical selling prices and to unload the stored heat in the periods of low electrical energy selling prices. By simulating a CPH production during the heating period for the whole range of ambient temperatures all relevant energies were calculated as well as the economical consequences. Obtained results of the economical calculations and the values of NPV, IRR and the SPBT indicate that installing the heat accumulator can be profitable.

For the last 20 years researchers have tried to create new approaches of managing urban ecosystem by using remote sensing methods. The authors estimated the normalized vegetation index (NDVI) and moisture index (NDMI) indices of Kyiv and propose an approach which can be used for estimation vegetation of other cities. The aim of the study was to assess the indicators of NDVI and NDMI in Kyiv for the last 5 years. The authors consider the NDVI index as an important ecostabilizing component of the urban ecosystem, as well as an indicator of the well-being citizens in a modern city. The study used space images of the Sentinel-2 satellite system with resolution of 10×10 m and 10×20 m. The images were decrypted using the Sentinel Hub platform which updates the data-base daily. The paper presents the results of correlation analysis using Statistica-6.0 software and demonstrate the close relationship (r = 0.73, r2 = 0.55) between NDVI and NDMI. Thus, the statistical results of the study confirm a strong correlation between photosynthetic activity of plants and indicators of their water content by satellite imagery which allows using modern satellite technologies to assess the functional state of the urban vegetation. The changes in the length of active vegetative growth period were identified by NDVI and NDMI. The results of the research expand the directions of the methods of monitoring the condition of the urban vegetation cover in the aspect of applied landscape research.

The article provides an analysis of life forms of 9 floristic complexes of the Ketpen ridge on the basis of many years of research materials, where life forms were studied in each floristic complex according to the systems of K. Raunkiaer and I.G. Serebryakov. An analysis of life forms according to the system of K. Raunkiaer established the dominance of hemicryptophytes in cryophilic-meadow (74.8%), petrophilic (72.5%) and deciduous-forest (80.3%) floristic complexes of the Ketpen ridge, which accounted for the total number of species of complexes. The second large group in terms of the number of species corresponded to cryptophytes, which predominate in the cryophilic-meadow (65.3%) and psammophilic (45.9%) floristic complexes. Distribution of species according to life forms according to I.G. Serebryakov demonstrated a clear predominance of polycarpic in the meadow complex amounting to 82.5%, deciduous-forest – 81.7%, psammophilous – 75.9% and steppe – 79.4% floristic complexes of the total number of species of complexes. An analysis of the meadow floristic complex of the Ketpen ridge according to Serebryakov showed that taproot plants account for 128 species or 20.5%, short-rhizome – 18.4%, long-rhizome – 11.3%, turf-rhizomatous – 4.8%. An analysis of the life forms of the psammophilic floristic complex revealed the prevalence of therophytes (40.7%). It was found that the spectrum of life forms according to Raunkiaer and Serebryakov emphasizes the peculiarities of the floristic complexes of the Ketpen ridge.

Ustalenie związków przyczynowych pomiędzy ekspozycją inicjującą a rozwojem nowotworu napotyka na znaczne trudności zarówno na skutek długiego utajenia, nakładania się różnych ekspozycji rakotwórczych i promocyjnych, wpływu dziedzicznych czynników predysponujących, jak i z faktu, że ekstrakty roślinne sa z reguły mieszaniną wielu składników o różnych, często przeciwstawnych działaniach.

The paper discusses substances extracted from plants which are either genotoxic or mutagenic. Special attention was devoted to carcinogens which are present in many food products and/or have medicinal use. Information included herein makes it possible to eliminate potential carcinogens from food products. It is often difficult to establish the connection between an initial exposure and cancer development. This is due to a combination of various types of exposure to carcinogens, hereditary predisposition, also to the fact that plant extracts are usually a mixture of compounds which often have opposing effects.

In the last decades, planning of chemical plants was the topic of several investigations. Optimization of individual process units was also an important topic in chemical engineering research and practice. The results of these optimizations have led to significant improvements in process design. In the plant lifecycle bid preparation is another important point in plant design. Much research work on cost estimation has been done 25 or more years ago. The quality of the bid has a great influence on the economic success of the company. Therefore, bid preparation must have an important place in the planning process. The use of optimization programs with modern methods of rigorous simulation and computer aided engineering tools could led be significant improvements in the bid preparation process. Nevertheless a qualified and meaningful cost model is still very important for this process. The overall results are a better plant design and an exact estimation of the investment and operating costs. Thus, this approach could help to increase the efficiency and the cost accuracy of about 90% of the real investment and operating cost.

The article presents the technologies of obtaining precious metals as a by-product in the processing of copper concentrates in KGHM POLSKA MIEDŹ SA and in the processing of zinc and lead concentrates in Huta Cynku "MIASTECZKO ŚLĄSKIE". Discussed technologies for recovery of silver from secondary raw materials such as: used silver catalysts, scrapped electronic devices, defective transistors, scrap of silver-plated glasses, used solutions used for processing photosensitive materials are discussed. Jewellery and tableware and technical coatings in electronics and electrical engineering. The high reflectivity of the light rays from the silver surface was used in the production of special reflectors and mirrors, and chemical resistance in the construction of apparatus (such as equipment resistant to molten hydroxide alkali metals).

Basic linguistic ontology and plants: A semantic sketchThis article is devoted to verbs collocating with the Polish lexeme roślina ‘plant’. The aim of the study is to determine the linguistic status of the plant and to investigate whether it is ‘someone’ or ‘something’ in view of the semantics of the verbs in question. The author analyses cases in which the plant appears in the semantic role of the agent. She makes conclusions about how the lexeme roślina functions in Polish and defines its unique features (semantic connectivity) and semantic roles. The study is based on language surveys conducted among native speakers of Polish. Language analysis reveals the place of the plant in the hierarchy of living organisms. Elementarna ontologia językowa rośliny – szkic semantycznyPrzedmiotem artykułu są polskie czasowniki, które zgodnie z łączliwością semantycznoskładniową występują z leksemem roślina. Celem tekstu jest ustalenie językowego statusu rośliny oraz, dzięki badaniu semantyki czasowników, znalezienie odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy roślina jest kimś, czy czymś. Autorka analizuje czasowniki, w których roślina występuje w semantycznej roli agensa; następnie na podstawie badań językowych formułuje wnioski dotyczące sposobu funkcjonowania leksemu roślina w języku polskim, określając jego cechy unikatowe (łączliwość semantyczną) oraz role semantyczne. Metody wykorzystane w pracy to testy językowe na materiale pozytywnym i negatywnym oparte na kompetencji językowej użytkowników polszczyzny. Analiza językowa odkrywa miejsce wyznaczone dla rośliny w hierarchii organizmów żywych.

Carbohydrates are known as sources of immunological cross-reactivity of allergenic significance. In celery and in cypress pollen, the major allergens Api g 5 and Cup a 1 are recognised by antisera raised against anti-horseradish peroxidase and by patients' IgE which apparently bind carbohydrate epitopes; mass spectrometric analysis of the tryptic peptides and of their N-glycans showed the presence of oligosaccharides carrying both xylose and core α1,3-fucose residues. Core α1,3-fucose residues are also a feature of invertebrates: genetic and biochemical studies on the fruitfly Drosophila melanogaster, the parasitic trematode Schistosoma mansoni and the nematode worm Caenorhabditis elegans indicate that these organisms possess core α1,3-fucosyltransferases. Various experiments have shown that fucosyltransferases from both fly and worm are responsible in vivo and in vitro for the synthesis of N-glycans which cross-react with anti-horseradish peroxidase; thus, we can consider these enzymes as useful tools in generating standard compounds for testing cross-reactive carbohydrate epitopes of allergenic interest.

The article evaluates the failure rate of devices in the Mechanical Processing Plant using a traditional quality tool, the Pareto-Lorenzo diagram. A comparative analysis of failure rates was performed, recorded in repair, inspection and maintenance card. Then, changes were proposed in order to reduce failure rates and earlier detection of equipment malfunctions. In order to analyze the failure rate of grain washer equipment during thick coal preparation process, one quality management tools was used - the Pareto-Lorenzo diagram. In this case, it is important to assess the mechanical failure of devices, and demonstrating which devices generate most repairs. Based on materials made available by the mine, such as: Repair, inspection and maintenance cards, Device cards, DTR documentation. Quantitative and qualitative assessment the most frequently occurring mechanical failures during operation of devices in process enrichment of coarse sizes was carried out. An attempt was made to assess failure rate of devices on a grain washer. A comparative analysis of failure rates in 2015-2017 recorded in the repair, inspection and maintenance card was carried out. Then, changes were proposed to stand, in order reduce failure rates, and earlier detection equipment malfunctions.
