On the base of technical documentation physical model driving gv stem of the railway vehicle was elaborated and it was digitized by rigid element ińeihod (REM) and finite element method (FEM). The elaborated mathematical aiudel of driving system enables to model torsional and transverse vibration. fothe article the mathematical modelling subjects of drive system of wheel sets di ven by senes-connected direct current (DC) motor will be presented. The sets of mathematical eąuations described dynamical behaviour of series-connected DC rnotor and coupled drive system of wheel sets will be formulated and shown. Formulated mathematical models of DC motor and drive system of wheel set m Matlab/Simulink in graphical form ware implemented.
