The work presents some properties of eutrophic fen soils and the impact of their spatial location, the kind of bedrock and oxygen concentration in fen feed-water. The depth of peat horizons and the degree of peat decomposition in these horizons depends on the gradient of the land and the oxygen levels in the waters feeding the fens. The calcium carbonate content in the soils studied and their pH depended on the kind of bedrock on which the soil was formed.
