The languages used in the Caucasus can be grouped into three: Caucasian, Indo-European, and Turkish. The Georgian langauge along with the three other languages forms the southern-Caucasian language, known as the Kartvelian language family. For a large number of researchers, the notion of the Georgian language's formation and belonging to a specific language group has remained an elusive secret.
