W artykule przedstawiony został obraz rynku tłuszczów odpadowych w Polsce. Dokonana została analiza jakościowa i ilościowa poszczególnych rodzajów tłuszczów w wybranych województwach. Dokonano szacunków produkcji i wielkości rynku tłuszczu odpadowego w całej Polsce.

In the article waste fat market in Poland has been analyzed. Quality and quantity analyze has been made as well as evaluation of the total quantity of waste fat produced in Poland. Analyzed shown in the article include animal fat, waste fat remaining after frying processes and post-refining fatty acids. All data was obtained for reliable sources like annual reports of corporations producing waste fat. In the article several remarks about reliability of sources of information about waste management was made.

The article presents the investigations of fluidized combustion of oily wastes derived from cold rolling-mill process on a zeolite bed. Oily wastes generated in the rolling-mill process are one of the most hazardous residues from metallurgical works because the toxic additives content. The experiments were carried out using a small laboratory combustor with full measurement equipment. The measurement apparatus associated with the combustion chamber made it possible to measure the basic parameters of the process including the composition of exhaust gasses. It has been shown that the combustion of oily wastes from cold rolling-mill process can be conducted efficiently and friendly for the environment.

Wyposażenie pomiarowe stanowiska i komory spalania umożliwiało pomiar podstawowych parametrów procesu spalania wraz z analizą składu gazów spalinowych. W efekcie umożliwiło to prowadzenie procesu spalania przedmiotowych odpadów jak najefektywniej z jednoczesnym uwzględnieniem minimalizacji obciążenia środowiska naturalnego emisją składników toksycznych.

The paper presents the results of anaerobic digestion and co-digestion under mesophilic conditions in the OxiTop system and in lab-scale fermentors. The goal of the study was to determine the effect of reaction-based oil waste on biogas production in co-fermentation with sewage sludge (mixture of thickened primary and excess sludge). The average water content in sewage sludge was 97 %, with 70 % of total volatile solids concentration (TVS) in total solids. Weight content of oil waste in the mixture of sewage sludge ranged from 15 to 45 % (w/w) and the increase in TVS to 83.7 % was observed. The primary investigations of gas productivity by manometric method (OxiTop) showed that biogas production increased with increasing content of oil waste in the mixture with sewage sludge. The rate constant of the first-order kinetics for biogas production was determined. To determine the yield parameters of co-fermentation, the experiment was performed in four continuously stirred anaerobic reactors with a working, volume of 10 dm3. Organic loading rate (OLR) changed from 0.9 to 3.1 kg TVS/m^3d. High correlation between biogas flow rate and OLR was observed. Volumetric biogas production rate and the average methane content in the biogas increased from 0.79 to 1.98 m3/m3-d and from 52.3 to 62.3 %, respectively, as OLR increased. The results obtained in lab-scale fermentors are promising and open the possibilities of the implementation of co-fermentation of sewage sludge and oil waste.

Purpose: Biodiesel, mixture of fatty acid methyl esters is a biodegradable alternative fuel that is obtained from renewable sources as a vegetable oils or animal fats. Use of waste cooking oils reduce the cost of raw materials for biodiesel production and also reduces the environment pollution. Moreover, pure edible vegetable oils for biodiesel production have an ethical significance because food is used to produce fuel. The aim of this work is a presentation of effects that residual glycerides have on kinematic viscosity values of biodiesels produced from the various waste cooking oils with crude rapeseed oil blends. Kinematic viscosity is one of the most important property of biodiesel and it directly depend on raw material composition. Design/methodology/approach: This article includes analysis and estimation of the effect that residual mono-, di- and triglycerides which remain in the biodiesels after transesterification processes have on their kinematic viscosities. Results obtained for biodiesel produced from various percentages of waste cooking oils and crude rapeseed oil blends were presented. Findings: Investigation during biodiesels production showed that the biggest impact on biodiesel kinematic viscosity have monoglycerides, diglycerides, and then at the end triglycerides. From these follows that kinematic viscosity of biodiesel is not a function only of the conversion (transesterification process) but also of the residual incompletely reacted glycerides which amount depend of the waste cooking oils percentage in raw material blends used for biodiesels production. Research limitations/implications: These presented results are the closed solution considering the used raw materials. Quality and chemical composition of the used waste cooking oils are quite different from each other, which affects the quality of the produced biodiesels. Because of that these results should be an indicator for the further testing and improvements to achieve optimization of transesterification process which can reduce the amount of the residual glycerides in the biodiesel. Practical implications: The results presented in the paper can be applied in the industry for estimation and selection of the optimal percentages of waste cooking oils and crude rapeseed oil blends for the biodiesel production. Originality/value: This paper presents research of the influence of residual glycerides on kinematic viscosity of biodiesels produced from the various waste cooking oils and crude rapeseed oil blends. Application of these research can leads to the better kinematic viscosity value of produced biodiesel with optimization of the transesterification process.
