Strategic development and planning predetermine all the major fields of activities. Marketing activities are the key tool of communication with a company’s customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. Nowadays, short but informative presentation solutions are becoming more attractive and popular. Companies are using more visuals with a short text in their communication channels as well as in building strategies. One of the tools is the one-page strategic plan (OPSP). The research problem of the paper is how to develop a strategy in its compressed version for the organisation that can have a format which is easy-to-understand and communicate. The paper aims to propose the OPSP model for the Aarong company, which should include both the commercial and non-profit activities. As a research method, the case study of Aarong company was chosen, using the secondary data. The proposed OPSP for Aarong company clearly showed the connections of all key elements of a strategic plan. The practical implications of using the OPSP tool in the Aarong company are clearly visible in terms of synthesis of a complicated strategic plan and having an attractive form of the company strategy for the external communication.

Non-governmental organizations play a vital role in the economy of every country. They are not only providers of special type of services that public sector is not capable of providing in full quality and quantity, and private sector is not interested in, but they are also watch dogs of the society and builders of active citizenship. Thus they have become an object of many research studies. The divergence in their goals, sizes, roles, types of services provided, and ways of funding make NGOs an interesting subject. As a goal for our research we therefore chose a comparison of the development and state of the Slovak and Austrian non-profit sector in the view of historical development of both countries. Consequently, we want to evaluate the funding of NGOs in Slovakia and Austria. In the paper we map the development of non-profit sector in Slovakia and Austria and in the context of a common historical development we assess a current state and a potential of economic strength of NGOs in both countries. The output is comparison of funding of NGOs in Slovakia and Austria based on statistical data evaluation. Subsequently, we propose recommendation for suitable diversification of the funding sources.

The article presents key findings of two distinct surveys which examined the impact of the pandemic on the functioning of non-profit organizations. The first one conducted by the European Fundraising Association in 26 European countries concentrated on the issues of fundraising and changes in this area due to the pandemic. The second survey ran by the Salesforce.org aimed at providing insights into global non-profit trends based on opinions of 1250 professionals from 10 countries. Although research questions that guided both surveys were different, and the results cannot be compared, both surveys complement each other, showing a complicated post-covid reality of non-profit organization across different countries.

In recent years crowdfunding has become an important instrument of capital raising. Its importance, popularity and impact are still growing thanks to the development of ICT technologies and new ways of thinking about investments. Both individuals as well as small and middle size enterprises see crowdfunding as a new way of collecting capital by benefiting from free financial assets of Internet users. Therefore, more and more investors are noticing the clear-cut advantages offered by this kind of financial instrument. Crowdfunding is rearranging the way that entrepreneurs finance their endeavors, launch new products and services onto the market and open start-up companies. Crowdfunding’s social impact appears to be undisputed when it comes to start-ups, it also seems to be a key factor contributing to the increase in their number and socio-economic success. The paper presents the basics of crowdfunding i.e. its models, associated risks and growth on Polish and European market. The world reports on crowdfunding and the author’s own research in this field were the main sources of material for this paper.

The chosen aspects and assumptions of the author’s proposal of the optimization model of the non-profit projects’ portfolio are presented. The functional model of the non-profit sector (third sector), which is the base for the further analyses, is also characterized. The article also contains the quantification of fundamental conditions of portfolio optimization. There is developed the utility model for the management system in the non-profit portfolio, in the framework of which there are specified the scope of the model and relationships between four categories of the non-profit portfolio’s participants/stakeholders: non-profit organizations, donors, co-participants and customers (recipients of the basic benefits/values associated with the realization of the non-profit projects). The main optimality conditions and optimization algorithm of the non-profit portfolio are also given. The paper is concluded with exemplary analytical matrixes used for optimization of the non-profit portfolios and based on the evaluation of both the optimization utility conditions and added parameters. Only basic and chosen aspects of the optimization of the non-profit projects’ portfolio have been described here.

The modern business model means that, regardless whether for-profit or nonprofit, an organization should use ICTs in their activities. Nowadays social enterprise has emerged as a key actor in efforts to address the many complex issues facing the world today. Its focus on providing a benefit to society as a whole rather than just the owners of the enterprise makes it ideal for addressing the global concerns of the environment, healthcare, education, economic growth, and poverty alleviation. This article demonstrates specific examples on how Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can help social enterprises and other organizations to achieve their goals.

W niniejszym artykule autorki przedstawiają konkretne przykłady ilustrujące w jaki sposób technologie informacyjne i komunikacyjne (ICT) mogą pomóc przedsiębiorstwom społecznym i innym organizacjom w realizowaniu i osiąganiu ich celów.
