This monograph presents a concept of the determination and use of ship's safe navigation lane in navigational information systems. The ship's safe navigation lane is called navlane in this work and is determined from its parameters, chart data, accuracy of position identification and provisions of Collision Regulations. The work consists of an introduction, four chapters and a summary. The introduction provides a historical outline to the problem, discusses the current state of research on the determination of safe movement trajectories, finally sets the aim and scope of this work. Chapter 1 presents properties of the marine navigational information system, which combines a navigational system and an information system. The former enables estimating of own ship's position, the latter provides an image of the navigational situation. Chapter 2 includes methods of presenting cartographic objects in the navigational information system. Chapter 3 gives a definition and method of the determination of safe ship movement lane. Finally, in the last fourth chapter the reader will find practical use of ship movement lane ensuring safe navigation, accounting for the impact of the marine environment, e.g. tides, and collision avoidance. In the summary, most essential conclusions and remarks are presented.

Ship mates should be aware of images, numerical values, texts and audio-based information of radar, AIS, NAVTEX, VHF, and etc. for safe navigation. However, it is very complicated and difficult for them to acquire such information and use it as data for decision-making for safe navigation while keeping watch for navigation. So, a system to understand, unite and provide multimedia marine information for mates in voice is necessary. This study tries to suggest data fusion model of the navigation and communication system.

This research aims at investigating the user requirements at the service level for safe navigation system, following e-navigation strategy implementation plan. The user requirements is surveyed to collect real-time navigational information and then to find out services through the presentation of the collected information. To provide the information on user needs for the system developer, a questionnaire survey has been made. Based on this surveys, this research investigated which navigational information is with higher priority for the safe navigation during ship operation by bridge team in harbour and in coastal and confined.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań wymagań użytkownika związanych z poziomem bezpieczeństwa nawigacji, stosownie do strategii wprowadzania e-nawigacji. Badano oczekiwania użytkowników odnośnie informacji nawigacyjnej dostarczanej w czasie rzeczywistym oraz sposobu jej prezentacji metodą ankietową. Wykonano przegląd kwestionariuszy dla ustalenia informacji o potrzebach użytkownika z myślą o projektantach systemów. Na bazie opisywanych badań ustalono, jakie informacje nawigacyjne cechują się najwyższym priorytetem w opinii użytkowników, zarówno w warunkach żeglugi przybrzeżnej, jak i w porcie lub akwenie ograniczonym.

In the era of emerging technologies in the transport decided to create three-dimensional visuali-zation system which virtualizes real navigation situation of the ship in a restricted area. The system in its des-tiny is a part of a large branch of the eNavigation and is intended as a tool to assist decision navigator on the ship’s bridge, particularly in the berthing maneuvers. The article presents the technical assumptions for the system. Presents its destination, innovative solutions including the ability to multi-territorial virtualization and preview the actual position of the individual.

Navigation information should be precisely, up-to-date and credible. The paper presents navigational information in respect to their features and attributes.

This article presents the problem of proper use of navigational integrated equipment installed on modern vessels. Large number of electronic aids to navigation and even greater amount of information obtained make it possible to integrate and arrange these devices in a proper way. Such arrangement of all instruments make it possible to present all their data and information on the screen of electronic chart. The dynamic development of information technology gave rise to electronic charts. The authors focused on the possibilities which are offered by electronic charts and presented the possibility of integrating individual instruments such as gyrocompass, log, echo sounder, GPS, ARPA and AIS and the information gathered from them with an electronic chart. This is a subject with further prospects and both all the companies producing the software as well as the ship-owners aim at the most efficient use of this device in order to improve the safety of navigation. This work also presents the mistakes which are made when electronic charts are used improperly. The further development of this system and the possibilities it can offer the future users are also presented here.

Morskie pomoce nawigacyjne to pojęcie różnorodnie interpretowane w polskiej literaturze specjalistycznej. Odpowiadają mu dwa wydawałoby się podobne określenia w języku angielskim: aids to navigation i navigational aids. Pierwsze z nich dotyczy zazwyczaj oznakowania nawigacyjnego (aids to navigation), drugi termin drugi określa zwykle wydawnictwa nawigacyjne (navigational aids). Niestety nie zawsze. W wielu publikacjach oba terminy używane są zamiennie. U niektórych zaś aids to navigation to określenie dotyczące zarówno wydawnictw hydrograficznych jak i oznakowania nawigacyjnego, z kolei navigational aids to urządzenia nawigacyjne. Bez względu na interpretacje poszczególnych autorów morskie pomoce nawigacyjne stanowią podstawę do bezpiecznej żeglugi. Artykuł ma na celu zaprezentowanie nowego autorskiego podziału i klasyfikacji morskich pomocy nawigacyjnych i zdefiniowanie logistyki w nawigacji morskiej.

Morskie pomoce nawigacyjne to pojecie różnorodnie interpretowane w polskiej literaturze specjalistycznej. Odpowiadają mu dwa, wydawałoby się podobne, określenia w języku angielskim: aids to navigation i nawgational aids. Pierwsze z nich dotyczy zazwyczaj oznakowania nawigacyjnego (aids to navigation), drugi termin określa zwykle wydawnictwa nawigacyjne (navigational aids). Niestety, nie zawsze. W wielu publikacjach oba terminy są używane zamiennie. W niektórych zaś aids to navigation to określenie dotyczące zarówno wydawnictw hydrograficznych, jak i oznakowania nawigacyjnego, z kolei navigational aids to urządzenia nawigacyjne. Artykuł ma na celu zdefi niowanie pojęcia morskie pomoce nawigacyjne, zaprezentowanie nowego autorskiego ich podziału i klasyfikacji, a także pokazanie związku z telekomunikacją morską.
