In operations conducted outside the territory of the own country that result both from art. 5 of the Washington Treaty, in the framework of coalition defence and (particularly) actions that do not result from this article and during allied exercises preparing to wage joint operations, particular coalition members must have access to other, not only national, logistic resources for troops assigned for the territory of another country. The greatest, governmental, guarantees of access to sources and almost a certainty to acquire services and assets at a potential wide range of resources for the troops, conducting operations outside their own country, are ensured by Host Nation Support. The mentioned above certainty does not result from its “appointment”. Gaining it requires the knowledge of compliance with appropriate procedures and accomplishing a number of complex preparatory tasks on different levels, even outside the armed forces.
