In a knowledge-based economy, the human capital that is capable of innovative thinking and entrepreneurial action is the factor responsible for the creation of prosperity. Technology parks are an example of a high concentration of innovative human capital. In the past five years several new park initiatives have been established in Poland. In some large cities such as Poznan and Wroclaw, there is already a kind of fashion for technology parks. These initiatives are called technology parks, research and business parks. The activities of parks should be development measured, for example, by employment growth in the regions, and the innovativeness of companies. Technology parks are from an organizational and conceptual point of view the most advanced innovation centers in Poland. Entrepreneurs, representatives of the scientific sector, business environment institutions as well as regional authorities expect of them a permanent, intensive development, which translates into the development of the environment in which they operate. The main aim of this paper is a multidimensional comparative analysis of the spatial diversity of the development of technology parks in Poland. For the study of spatial differentiation in the development of technology parks in Poland a taxonomic measure of development zi was used, which was based on the statistical information collected during the study ”Benchmarking of technology parks in Poland – 2012 edition”. The statistical information of the 19 technology parks selected for the study was analyzed. The multi-dimensional comparative analysis in the study of technology parks shows that the phase of growth of parks does not always translate directly into the position they occupy in the taxonomic hierarchy.

W artykule autorzy wykorzystali metodę porządkowania liniowego, należącą do metody wielowymiarowej analizy porównawczej, do oceny zakresu działań na rzecz zrównoważonego rozwoju, realizowanych w Polsce przez przedsiębiorstwa przemysłu cementowego. Ocena ta została oparta na konstrukcji wskaźnika syntetycznego [Qi], w którym uwzględniono trzy zmienne diagnostyczne: (i) zakres działań środowiskowych i społecznych komunikowanych przez firmę, (ii) liczbę opublikowanych raportów w CSRinfo, (iii) wielkość firmy mierzoną udziałem w rynku. Przeprowadzona analiza pozwoliła na identyfikację liderów w zakresie komunikowanych aktywności, wpisujących się w działania podejmowane na rzecz zrównoważonego rozwoju. Są to przede wszystkim największe podmioty przemysłu cementowego funkcjonujące w Polsce, będące częścią globalnych grup kapitałowych.

The article uses the linear ordering method, which falls under the multi-dimensional comparative analysis methods, to assess the scope of activities for sustainable development carried out by cement industry companies operating in Poland. This assessment was based on the structure of the synthetic measure [Qi], which included three diagnostic variables: (i) the scope of environmental and social activities communicated by the company, (ii) the number of published reports in CSRinfo, (iii) company size measured by its market share. The analysis allowed for the identification of leaders in the field of communicated activities that are part of the activities undertaken for sustainable development. They are primarily the largest entities of the cement industry in Poland, which are part of global capital groups.

W artykule omówiono zagadnienie klasyfikacji regionów, z uwzględnieniem analizy wielowymiarowej. Pokazano możliwość zastosowania w tym celu zmodyfikowanej metody DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis). Zamieszczono przykłady klasyfikacji województw na podstawie wybranych danych zaczerpniętych z publikacji GUS. Wyniki przedstawiono w postaci diagramów Hassego pokazując relacje częściowego porządku ze wskazaniem pozycji regionu świętokrzyskiego.

The paper discusses the issue of regions classification with using multi-dimensional analysis, showing the possibility of using a modified DEA method (Data Envelopment Analysis). Example classifications of the regions are presented, based on selected data taken from the publications of Central Statistical Office of Poland. The results are given in the Hasse diagrams form to show partial order relations and the position of świetokrzyskie region.
