The paper presents a method of the mathematical modelling of gearboxcs with time dependent meshing stiffness. The mathematical model ijofthe gearbox is created by the modal synthesis method based on the system iiecomposition into subsystems joined by discrete couplings - gear meshing and bearings. The model of the system is formed by means of the lower mode shapes of the mutually uncoupled undamped subsystems. This mathematical model is used for the investigation the steady-state dynamie response caused by the gear kinematic transmission errors and by the periodical changes of meshing stiffness.
