Kraj Basków, z tradycyjnego obszaru emigracji stał się atrakcyjnym celem dla imigrantów. Jednocześnie mniejszościowy status, trwający wciąż konflikt z Madrytem, dwujęzyczny i wielokulturowy charakter regionu sprawiają, że sytuacja migracyjna przybyszy ma szczególny charakter. Wielu imigrantów często dopiero na miejscu poznaje tę specyfikę, która staje się dla nich integracyjnym wyzwaniem. Czy imigranci mieszkający w Baskijskiej Wspólnocie Autonomicznej odbierani/przedstawiani są przez społeczność miejscową jako kolejne niebezpieczeństwo dla „zagrożonej kultury”? Celem artykułu jest namysł nad charakterem relacji pomiędzy społecznością przybywającą i miejscową w Baskijskiej Wspólnocie Autonomicznej, a zwłaszcza nad sposobem postrzegania imigrantów przez tych ostatnich (w przeszłości i obecnie) i wyzwaniami stojącymi przed baskijską polityką integracyjną.

Traditionally, the Basque Country used to be a region where people emigrated from , but today it has become an attractive destination for immigrants. At the same time, the minority status of the Basque people, the ongoing conflict with Madrid, the bilingual and multicultural make-up of the region places the incoming migrants in singular circumstances. Many are confronted with that specificity only once they arrive, while integration becomes a genuine challenge. Are immigrants living in the Basque Autonomous Community seen by the local community as another threat to their “endangered culture”? The aim of this article is to consider the nature of the relationship between local community and immigrants in the Basque Autonomous Community, with particular focus on the manner in which the latter are perceived by the Basques (in the past and at present) as well as reflect on the challenges facing Basque integration policy.

The article’s subject is the status of the homosexual minority in the world of sports, which-as one would assume-is a hetero-normative world. The author draws attention to the different situations of lesbians and gays in sports as a result both of the manner in which sports themselves are seen and of how femininity and masculinity in sports are viewed (certain types of sports activity are perceived as being masculine, and certain as being feminine). The attitudes of the male and female athletes themselves are described, as well as the attitude towards them in the sports environment and their perception in public opinion. The Gay Games, competitions for sexual minorities, are also presented, with their relation to mainstream (heterosexual) sports. Particular attention is paid to the ambiguous status of sexual minorities and various practices used within these milieus and towards them

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie sytuacji mniejszości berberyjskiej w Maroku w kontekście marokańskiej historii i formowania się nowoczesnego narodu marokańskiego, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem pozycji berberyjskich kobiet w społeczeństwie. Walka kobiet berberyjskich o upodmiotowienie stanowi część szerszego procesu odzyskiwania przez Berberów ich tożsamości w sferze kultury i języka oraz walki marokańskich kobiecych organizacji pozarządowych o równouprawnienie w Królestwie. Pomimo zbliżonych celów, berberyjskie i marokańskie organizacje kobiece wykazują odmienne zakorzenienie kulturowe.

The paper aims to present the Berber minority in the context of the Morocco’s history and formation of the modern Moroccan nation, with special focus on Berber women’s position in the society. The struggle for empowerment of Berber women is linked to a broader process of recovery of the Berber identity within the sphere of culture and language and to the activity of the Moroccan women’s organizations advocating for gender equality in the Kingdom. In spite of converging goals, major diff erences can be observed between the Berber and Moroccan organizations pointing to diverse cultural roots of both movements.

The purpose of this article is to present selected issues of legal and political status of Russians in Poland with particular emphasis on the Russian emigrants environment living on the Polish lands during building the foundations of the Second Republic of Poland and to show legal changes within this scope. The author’s intention is also an attempt to complete the existing studies relating to the history of Russian emigration in Poland in the interwar period.

Artykuł ma na celu omówienie wybranych elementów sytuacji polityczno-prawnej Rosjan, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem środowiska rosyjskich emigrantów na ziemiach polskich w okresie budowania zrębów II Rzeczypospolitej oraz ukazanie zmian, jakie zachodziły w kwestii uregulowania norm prawnych. Zamierzeniem autorki jest również próba uzupełnienia dotychczasowych badań dotyczących historii emigracji rosyjskiej w Polsce w okresie międzywojennym.
