The following work examines how the language competence of Polish primary school students studying abroad is created, and what problems occur among students brought up in a bilingual environment. The examined students were the pupils of the 3rd grade of primary school in Szkolny Punkt Konsultacyjny im. Królowej Rychezy in Cologne, Germany. Twelve children: nine girls and three boys participated in the research.
