This paper deals with hydrodynamic bearing stability analysis based on a parametric model in the scope of monitoring intended for rotating machinery under transient operating conditions. The aim of the presented approach is to provide diagnostic symptoms of faulty conditions. The study is supported by analytical consideration, laboratory measurements, physics-based and data-based models. Mathematical model and test rig were used to simulate vibrations of a shaft supported with hydrodynamic bearings under normal and malfunctioned operation. The conducted simulations for a single mass system were utilized to validate the proposed diagnostics approach. Advanced signal processing is realized with the rapid prototyping tool, i.e. Matlab and digital signal processing hardware.

Sytuacja, w której pamięć instytucjonalna funkcjonuje prawidłowo jest sytuacją niezwykle pożądaną w szeroko rozumianej rzeczywistości społecznej. Od tego jak szybko dana instytucja jest w stanie przywołać fakty lub sprawy ze swojej pamięci, jak również od sposobu tego przywoływania zależy jakość jej funkcjonowania. Artykuł ma za zadanie dokonać przeglądu dysfunkcji, które współcześnie dotykają pamięć instytucji administracji publicznej, ich możliwych przyczyn oraz sposobów diagnozowania problemów. Rezultatem dokonanego przeglądu będzie zwięzły katalog możliwych do zaobserwowania nieprawidłowości w funkcjonowaniu pamięci instytucjonalnej wraz z odniesieniami do ich etiologii oraz proponowanych sposobów diagnozowania. Takie podejście stanowi punkt wyjścia do bardziej pogłębionych studiów nad tematyką dysfunkcji pamięci instytucjonalnej w obszarze instytucji administracji publicznej.

The situation in which institutional memory functions well is to be desired in broadly understood social reality. The speed with which a given institution is able to recall facts or issues from its memory, as well as the way in which it is done, testify to the quality of the institution’s functioning. The planned article aims to give a review of malfunctions connected with the memory of contemporary public administration institutions. The result of the review will be a concise catalogue of observable malfunctions of institutional memory, related to their etiology and suggested diagnostic means. Such an approach will be a point of departure for deeper research into the malfunction of institutional memory in the area of public administration institutions.

The article presents results of a laboratory study on exhaust gas emission level from a marine diesel engine. The object of the laboratory study was a four-stroke marine diesel engine type Al 25/30 Sulzer, operated at a constant speed. The examination on the engine was carried out according to regulations of the Annex VI to MARPOL 73/78 Convention. The laboratory study consisted of 3 observations: the engine assumed to be operating without malfunctions, delay of the fuel injection by 5° of crankshaft angle in the second engine cylinder, and the leakage of the fuel pump on the second engine cylinder. Additionally, parameters of fuel consumption and thermodynamic parameters of the marine engine were measured during the research. Simulated malfunctions caused changes in total weighed NOx, CO, and CO2 emissions for all considered engine loads. All simulated malfunctions caused a small change in measured thermodynamic parameters of the engine. The engine operation with the delayed fuel injection and the fuel leakage in the fuel pump in one cylinder caused a decrease of NOx and CO emission level. Fuel leakage in the fuel pump causes the CO2 emission to decrease only at low engine load. Calculations of the weighed specific fuel consumption present a 1-2% change in the engine efficiency.

The article presents a way to increase annual output of a mining facility by 25% with unaltered employment system. The article presents comparative analysis of a mining facility, its output, economic results of sales, “lost” possibilities, stoppages due to malfunctions, effective work of longwall shearers and their predicted malfunction-free working time depending on a number of mining shifts. Implementation of constant work i.e. increasing the number of mining shifts to four per twenty four hours will allow for enhancement of a mining facility’s production capabilities utilization and decrease of a mining facility’s losses which will result in improvement of economic results of sales.

W artykule przedstawiono sposób wzrostu wydobycia rocznego zakładu wydobywczego, o około 25%, przy niezmienionym systemie zatrudnienia pracowników. Przedstawiono analizę porównawczą zakładu wydobywczego, jego wielkości wydobycia, wyniku ekonomicznego ze sprzedaży, „utracone” możliwości, przerwy spowodowane awariami, efektywną pracę kombajnów oraz możliwą pracę kombajnów bez awarii w zależności od ilości zmian wydobywczych. W wyniku zastosowania pracy ciągłej, tj. zwiększenia liczby zmian wydobywczych z produkcją na dobę, czyli zastosowanie czwartej zmiany wydobywczej umożliwi zwiększenie stopnia wykorzystania zdolności produkcyjnej zakładu wydobywczego, oraz zmniejszy straty zakładu górniczego, co poprawi wynik ekonomiczny ze sprzedaży.

This article presents the issues connected with various types of exploitation wearing and malfunctions of vehicle parts and components in a practical approach – from the perspective of assessments and the opinions of car specialists.
