W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań, dotyczących mszaków górnego biegu Zachodniego Bugu. Teren ten fizycznie i geograficznie położony jest w obrębie Małego Polesia, częściowo Roztochii oraz w niewielkim stopniu na wzgórzach Gołogóro-Woronieckich. Na podstawie badań terenowych, po raz pierwszy zestawiono listę mszaków tego obszaru. Przeanalizowano cechy ekologiczne, preferencje podłoża i formy życiowe stwierdzonych tu mszaków. Według cech ekologicznych w spektrum heliomorfów dominują subheliofity (30,9%) i hemisciofity (30,9%); mezofity (29,7%), higromezofity (21,2%) i kseromezofity – w spektrum hydromorfów (19,4%); gatunki tolerujące zimno (59,4%) – w spektrum termomorfów. Na podstawie analizy preferencji substratowych, zidentyfikowano następujące grupy mszaków: epigeity (116 gatunków), epiksylity (56 gatunków), epifity (46 gatunków), epility (43 gatunki), hydrofity (całkowicie lub częściowo zanurzone) (22 gatunki). Dominującymi formami życiowymi są formy darniowe (30,3%), tworzące szorstkie maty (18,2%), wełniste (15,2%), kępkowe (10,3%) oraz tworzące gładkie maty (9,7%). Znaleziono 3 gatunki w skali ogólnej uznane za rzadkie oraz 16 gatunków uznanych za rzadkie regionalnie. W grupie mszaków związanych z ekosystemami wodno-błotnymi, stwierdzono 2 gatunki ogólnie rzadkie i 6 gatunków rzadkich regionalnie. Ze względu na duże powierzchnie odwodnionych terenów w obwodzie lwowskim, gatunki te są szczególnie cenne, zwłaszcza w kontekście zachowania różnorodności biologicznej i ochrony cennych przyrodniczo obszarów, zgodnie ze Strategią Rozwoju Obwodu Lwowskiego do 2027 roku.

In the article, the bryophytes of the upper reaches of the Western Bug River, which is physically and geographically located within Male Polissya, partly Roztochia, and to a minor extent in the Gologoro-Voronyatsky denudo-structural hills, have been studied. Based on our survey, a list of the bryophytes has been compiled for the first time. Ecological features, substrate preferences and life forms of the bryophytes have been analysed. According to the ecological features, subheliophytes (30.9%) and hemisciophytes (30.9%) predominate in the spectrum of heliomorphs; mesophytes (29.7%), hygromesophytes (21.2%) and xeromesophytes – in the spectrum of hydromorphs (19.4%); cold-tolerant species (59.4%) – in the spectrum of thermomorphs. Based on the analysis of the substrate preferences of the bryophytes, the following groups were identified: epigeans (116 species), epixils (56 species), epiphytes (46 species), epiliths (43 species), aquatic (22 species). The prevailing life forms are turf (30.3%), rough mat (18.2%), weft (15.2%), tuft (10.3%) and smooth mat (9.7%). 3 species that are officially recognised as rare and 16 species that are recognized as regionally rare have been found. In the group of bryophytes associated with wetland ecosystems, 2 officially rare and 6 regionally rare species were found in the study area. Given the large areas of drained land in Lviv Region, these species are of particular value, especially in the context of conservation of the biodiversity and protection of the valuable natural areas in accordance with the Development Strategy of Lviv Region by 2027.

Cancer, a popular name of neoplasm and/or neoplastic diseases, is inseparably bound with equally popular definitions of life, health and death, the former and the latter being natural phenomena. The essence of life continuous, spontaneous and mutual exchange of matter and energy, whereby a significant role is played by information about their state as unity of apparent contrasts. The key issue is that life does not arise de novo, but is passed on. Neoplasm is a final cellular form of life of multicellular organisms, able to prolong life processes by dissipative self-organization of cells threatened by death. Its exceptionality consists in the fact that self-organization of tumors can prolong life in daughter cells only, and only as long as affected host lives, becoming increasingly sick due to increasing tumor-dependent dissipation of matter and energy. Clearly increased dissipation of matter and energy by tumor cell in a hitherto normal tissue is the first and non-specific, but still a universally recognized information about local ineffectiveness of host organism. A sufficiently efficient host organism as a whole is able to use its defense mechanisms not only to destroy such a cell featuring an alien neoplastic identity, but also to eliminate dissipative states in cells threatened by death in own tissue.This process, occurring in multicellular organisms, apart of proliferation and apoptosis, determines the size of cellular populations in tissues and organs. From this point of view, carcinogenesis is also a potent quantitative and qualitative regulator of tissues.

Rak jako częste potoczne określenie nowotworów i/lub chorób nowotworowych nierozerwalnie łączy się z równie powszechnymi definicjami życia, zdrowia i śmierci, jako także naturalnych zdarzeń. Istotą życia jest stała spontaniczna, wzajemna zamiana materii i energii z udziałem informacji o ich stanie jako jedności pozornych przeciwieństw. Problem polega na tym, że życie nie powstaje de novo, ale jest tylko przekazywane. Nowotwór stanowi końcową komórkową formę życia wielokomórkowych organizmów, przedłużającą trwanie procesów życiowych przez dysypatywną samoorganizację zagrożonych śmiercią komórek. Jego wyjątkowość polega na tym, że samoorganizacja nowotworów może przedłużać tylko spontaniczne życie w komórkach potomnych, i to dopóki żyje człowiek, chory z powodu coraz większego nowotworowego rozpraszania w nim materii i energii, zwanego dysypacją. Wyraźnie zwiększona dysypacja materii i energii przez komórkę nowotworową w prawidłowej dotychczas tkance jest pierwszą i niespecyficzną, ale za to uniwersalnie rozpoznawalną informacją o lokalnej niewydolności organizmu. Dostatecznie sprawny ustrój jako całość może środkami obronnymi nie tylko zniszczyć taką komórkę o odmiennej od niego biologicznej nowotworowej tożsamości, ale także zlikwidować stany dysypatogenne w zagrożonych śmiercią komórkach własnych tkanek. Tak dzieje się w wielokomórkowych organizmach, co obok proliferacji i apoptozy decyduje o wielkości populacji komórek w tkankach i narządach. W tym ujęciu nowotworzenie okazuje się też istotnym regulatorem wielkości i jakości tkanek.
