Author presents characteristic of duration of air mass occurrence in Southern Poland in the period 1951- 2009. The highest duration regardless of the season has a continental polar air (3.8 days). The mass of the shortest periods is maritime polar fresh and warm air (about 1.7 day). In terms of seasonal duration is strongly correlated with the frequency. In long-term perspective there is no statistically significant changes in duration.
