The paper examines interjections and their position in the Czech language system, focusing on their definition and classification. We first concentrate on problematic transitions between interjections and paralinguistic cues (sounds) and then on the definition of interjections from three basic perspectives - morphological, syntactic and semantic. We review the concept of interjections in some Czech grammars and provide commentary and critical remarks regarding it. We conclude with the proposal of an all-embracing definition and a new classification of interjections.

The article is based on the author's bachelor thesis that has been defended in the Faculty of Philosophy of the South Bohemian University in České Budějovice in 2011. The aim of the work was to collect the minor-place names from the cadastral areas of Vlhlavy and Malé chrášťany and to analyse the derivational structure and semantic motivation of these names. At first the article presents a characteristic of selected cadastral areas, written sources and the course of the research. Then the author introduces an organisation of a dictionary of names from his thesis, presents examples of the most interesting names and analyses their phonetic and morphological phenomena. The final chapter deals with three methods that have been used for the classification of minor-place names and presents their results.

V odborném sdělení se uvádí, že metodologie ve vědě je jedním z nejfrekventovanějších pojmů (je obligatorním komponentem každé vědy, každého ucelenějšího poznání a jednání), v názorech na její obsah však neexistuje shoda. Z mnoha otázek rozdělujících představitele rozdílných názorů autoři zvolili zejména ty, které podle jejich názorů nejlépe vysvětlují funkce a strukturu metodologie vědeckého poznání, tedy: čemu metodologie slouží a jaké funkce metodologie ve vědeckém poznání plní a jaký vědní útvar je metodologií vědeckého poznání.

Historic execution sites were a part of the landscape and their location was obviously picked with a certain intention. They used to be situated near settlements where judicial authorities resided and obviously also close to a line of the period transport network. Many execution sites that have been discovered so far suggest that their location was intentionally picked in the immediate vicinity of a path where traffic was known or expected to be heavy near towns where judicial authorities resided.

The article offers an overview of Czech compounding based on the classification put forward by Sergio Scalise and Antonietta Bisetto (cf. Bisetto — Scalise 2005; Scalise — Bisetto 2009). The classification is based on a combination of two hierarchical levels of analysis. The upper level divides compounds according to the grammatical (or syntactic) relation between the constituents into coordinate, subordinate and attributive structures. The lower level splits each of the three “macrotypes” into endocentric and exocentric compounds (on the basis of the presence / absence of a head). It is only at this point that the different lexical categories enter the scheme giving rise to various combinations (such as A + N, V + N and so on). Against the background of such a classification, which is in some important respects divergent from the onomasiological approach, the paper also concentrates on two special cases: first, on so‑called parasynthetic compounds of the type modrooký, vysokoškolský, bezvětří, nosorožec and others; second, on so‑called juxtapositions (spřežky), such as pomstychtivý or smysluplný, which are usually left aside within the onomasiological framework not being considered as fully‑fledged compounds.
