The formal and informal relationship of the teacher and pupil is a significant aspect, which is directly reflected in the quality of the educational process. Due to inclusion, there is an even greater necessity to focus attention also on the relationship plane of the teacher and pupil from a different cultural background because the socio-cultural specifics permeate into the daily interactions in the school and they substantially influence the motivation and learning of the Romani pupil. The objective of the presented study was to clarify the significant aspects of the teacher-pupil relationship that influenced the young Romani and their view- point on school and education. It seems that the significant aspects that can be considered as pre-concepts are teachers, the degree of perceived help and support, inequality and sharing the perspectives of the pupils.

Formalna i nieformalna relacja między nauczycielem a uczniem jest istotnym aspektem, który bezpośrednio przekłada się na jakość procesu edukacyjnego. Z perspektywy inkluzji istnieje jeszcze większa potrzeba skupienia uwagi także na płaszczyźnie relacji nauczyciela i ucznia z innego kręgu kulturowego, ponieważ specyfika społeczno-kulturowa przenika do codziennych interakcji w szkole i w istotny sposób warunkuje motywację i uczenie się ucznia romskiego. Celem prezentowanych w artykule badań było wyjaśnienie istotnych aspektów relacji nauczyciel-uczeń, które mają wpływ na młodych Romów, oraz na ich postrzeganie szkoły i edukacji. Z badań wynika, że za istotne aspekty można uznać postrzeganie nauczycieli przez uczniów (koncepcje wstępne), poziom otrzymywanej pomocy i wsparcia, nierówności i dzielenie się z uczniami informacjami o ich perspektywach.

W artykule dokonano przeglądu badań dotyczących znaczenia środowiska fizycznego klasy szkolnej dla przebiegu kształcenia, klimatu uczenia się i jakości wzajemnego komunikowania się. W analizach skupiono się zwłaszcza na strefach dystansu fizycznego, zatłoczeniu i zagęszczeniu, aranżacji miejsc siedzących oraz wystroju wnętrza sali lekcyjnej. Z przeglądu badań wynika, że mniejsze dystanse fizyczne między nauczycielem a uczniami sprzyjają osiąganiu wyższych wyników w nauce. Brak odpowiedniej przestrzeni fizycznej (zatłoczenie i zagęszczenie) wpływa na kłopoty z koncentracją, zmniejsza dokładność wykonywania zadań i nasila zachowania agresywne. Znawcy proksemiki klasy szkolnej podkreślają, że aranżacja miejsc siedzących w sali lekcyjnej ma duże znaczenie zarówno dla relacji między nauczycielem a uczniami, jak i dla procesu nauczania. Ich zdaniem najkorzystniejsze i najczęściej wybierane są ustawienie ławek rzędowo-szeregowe, w podkowę i w segmenty. Badacze proksemiki są zgodni, że innowacyjna aranżacja miejsc siedzących, pokrycie ścian żywszymi kolorami, położenie na podłogach barwnych dywanów oraz odpowiednie dekoracje mogą sprawić, że miejsce nauki stanie się dla ucznia bardziej pobudzające i przyjemne.

This article reviews investigation into the significance of the physical environment of the classroom (proxemics) to the learning process, climate and quality of communication. It focuses on analysis of zones of distance, crowding and concentration, seating arrangements and the interior decoration of teaching space. A review of the research shows that the closer the physical distance between the teacher and students, the more conducive to higher academic performance. Lack of adequate physical space creates problems with concentration for students, decreases accuracy in performance of tasks and increases incidence of aggressive behaviour. Experts in classroom proxemics stress the importance of the seating arrangements in the classroom for the relationship between teacher and students, as well as for the process of teaching. The setting of benches in a system-series, a horseshoe or segments is frequently preferred. Researchers of classroom proxemics assure that innovative seating arrangements, brighter wall colours, colourful carpets and decoration can create a more stimulating and pleasant learning environment for the student.
