In the work an attempt has been made to explain the mechanism and kinetics of coal and biomass co-combustion in the fluidized bed. Biomass is one from the most promising sources of renewable energy. Technology of coal and biomass co-combustion makes possible elimination of most of problems connected with properties of biomass: large content of volatiles matter and high reactivity, determining necessity of usage suitable variable technical solutions, assuring effective conversion of biomass, whether high and variable, content of moisture, consequence of which is also lower calorific value of fuels. One ascertained that combustion of fuel mixtures, consisting from coal and biomass makes possible stable work of boilers, assuring high ecological and energy effectivity. Completed investigations proved, that addition biomass to coal increases temperature of combustion of fuel whereas the extent of content of volatiles in fuel mixture shifts the mechanism of combustion towards the diffusive direction.
