When solving certain problems connected with operation of kinematic pairs, data are often employed obtained at studying their tribological analogues, namely joints. Their exclusive reliability is attributed to almost unlimited adaptive capabilities of biological lubricant at nonstationary operation regimes. Adaptive changes in rheological parameters of hydrogel together with low dissipative mechanism of liquid crystal friction ensure optimal operation of biolubricant in any conditions. The present work cites the examples of the developed self-lubricating materials, coolants and drugs.

W pracy omówiono nowe rozwiązania układu głowa-panewka. Podano wyniki badań własnych, dotyczących różnych materiałów stosowanych na pary trące. Najlepsze wyniki uzyskano dla pary trącej ceramika--ceramika.

In the paper new solutions of the ,,head - acetabular cup" system have been discussed. Moreover, the test results of the different materials used for frictional pairs have been given. The best results have been obtained for the "ceramics-ceramics" frictional pair.
